The cottage has seven rooms set on two floors.
Downstairs is the living/dining room with a wood burning stove set in a traditional Breton fireplace within an exposed stone wall. Three steps lead to the bright, recently extended kitchen and breakfast room. A further smaller room with ensuite WC and washbasin contains two bunk beds.
The first floor has two bedrooms, one double and one twin, and a separate bathroom with bath/shower, WC and washbasin. There is plenty of storage space throughout.
Within one kilometre is Ploerdut village, the 'flower of granite', with baker, butcher/grocer, church, restaurants, cafes, bars and post office. For eleven euros, an excellent three course lunch including wine is served at the central cafe/bar/tabac. Guemene sur Scorff is the nearest town. It has most amenities including a supermarket with cheaper petrol and another fine lunch stop at The Three Merchants.
Ideal for families and very close at hand is Priziac, with its inland beach, safe swimming/boating lake and cafe. Other swimming lakes are nearby. Further away, the excellent sea beaches of L'Armor Plage are easily reached, together with the city of Vannes, pre-historic Carnac, the Quiberon Peninsula and the Gulf of Morbihan for watersports and wildlife. The scenic Lac de Guerladen is to the north.
Overall, there are plenty of fine beaches, hidden coves, postcard- pretty ports and historic towns. It's a land of festivals, legends, myths, music and megaliths. The seafood is good too, along with local cider, honey and other fine things, all freshly available at numerous local markets and fairs.
On average the sun shines for 2200 hours every year and long, warm summers are pretty much guaranteed. The area can be cold in winter (time to light the log fire and curl up with a good book) but even in January, a fine day is never very far away.
