The Retreat Spa & Fitness Centre:
The Retreat at Aphrodite Hills is a place of true escape, a place to restore the balance & to indulge the spirit. The adult only Retreat offers 50+ different treatments for men / women. It was voted the worlds third best spa by 'Homes Overseas' magazine & in top 10 best European spa by conde Nast readers. Also used by the British Olympic team in preparation for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. The top floor has 9 state of the art treatment rooms, a hair salon, a large bright gym with vaulted ceiling, a fitness studio, male & female saunas & a tranquil 20m vanishing edge pool with stunning views towards the sea. Downstairs there are hydrotherapy rooms, Hamman with private massage rooms, heat rooms & sauna. These are set out around courtyards & private gardens surrounded by citrus & olive trees with relaxing water features. There are also 2 outdoor massage temples. The gym offers both CV equipment, weights machines & free weights. Personal training & fitness classes are also available.
Tennis & other activities:
There are 4 championship standard green-set hard courts & 4 clay courts at Aphrodite Hills. Open 7 days a week for group/ private lessons & general play. The Academy offers comprehensive tennis programmes for children & adults, beginners to advanced players with 2 resident tennis pros. Twice weekly coaching sessions & tournaments for children & adults are also popular. In addition a 'multisurface court' allows children to play 5 a side football, basketball & netball. In 2007 Aphrodite Hills welcomed the addition of a complete horse riding experience in the forestry land, adjacent to the north end of the development. Located in an area of natural beauty, the facilities incorporate livery stables, a jumping & dressage area, outdoor sand school & a turnout field. Private & group lessons are available for all levels including pony rides for younger equestrians.
Off site activities include Go Karting, bowling, waterparks, scuba & moterized watersports
Children's clubs/activities & beaches:
Based in the village square is a purpose built children's activities room. Catering for 3-12yrs daily with the 'Rainbow, Pegasus & Zoo' kids club. Activities include art & craft, football competitions & girl pampering. Team games are regularly organised (multisurface court)
For teenagers There is 'no adult allowed' teen Grotto (open 1pm-11pm daily) with a pool table, a bar for soft drinks & coin operated Xbox consoles.
At the village square is a children's playground (under a shaded cover) a zip line & mini golf. (unsupervised)
Just past the entrance to the resort is a newly opened beach.
3 miles away at Pissouri bay is a pretty beach (EU blue flag for cleanliness) with motorized watersports.
The Luxury Zias Beach club opened in 2007. A shuttle bus runs from the resort hourly. This premium facility must be booked 24hrs in advance since numbers are limited to maintain exclusivity. (10euro /person which includes transport, Teak Sunbed &umbrella, towels & bottled water)
Golf:
The Aphrodite Hills resort spans over 578 acres & the golf course weaves in & out around the development which also consists of luxury hotel, spa & real estate as well as village centre. The golf course was designed by Cabell Robinson & was officially opened in November 2002. Surrounded by protected forest, the golf course comprises 2 plateaux separated by a dramatic ravine, which gives players the opportunity to drive their ball across it at certain points. The course is par 71 & accessed with drive on golf buggies only. There is also a 3 hole academy course, driving range & resident golf pro, golf shop & clubhouse.
Just 2 miles away (5 mins in a car) is another 18 hole golf course at Secret Valley. This pretty course set in a valley provides golfing variety and allows clubs to be carried or wheeled along on a trolley.
