La sittelle is a one bedroom cottage which sleeps 2 adults and is the perfect place for those seeking a relaxing getaway. It is situated on the edge of a small rural village. The property was restored by French artisans in 2002 to a very high standard whilst still retaining its original character and charm. The cottage is situated in the grounds of the resident owners thatched cottage yet is completely private with its own garden.

The old market town of Tinchebray can be found only 3 km away where all ammenities are catered for. The normandy landing beaches are only an hour away. Le mont st. michel is easily accessible with a very pleasant drive around the nearby coastline . Suisse normande is a beautiful scenic area with lots of small villages and stunning countryside. Nearby towns of Vire and Flers for a selection of restaurants and shops. Visit the famous tapestry at Bayeux , war museums and cemetries. For anyone who fancys a day trip to Paris there is an excellent train service from Flers (15km). Local markets are a great way to spend a morning and soak up the French atmosphere, there are local ones every single day of the week. For golf lovers, there are 3 excellent courses in the area, Lac de la dathée, Bagnoles de l'orne and Clécy, all are in beautiful locations. Bagnoles de L'orne is a pretty spa town where you can enjoy a café whilst watching the world go by.ar

This pretty cottage is made of stone typical to this area of Normandy. Inside you will find an impressive Norman fireplace with a woodburner for those cooler evenings and original oak beams . The fully fitted kitchen is well equiped with a full size oven & hob, fridge, microwave, kettle & toaster, or you may prefer a BBQ 'en plein air' whilst enjoying the countryside views. The bedroom has a full sized very comfortable double bed looking out onto the original well in the back garden. Open tread stairs lead up to the bright , sunny shower room overlooking a tranquil field with the odd sheep grazing. The cottage is an ideal place for complete relaxation or as a base to explore the many sights of this beautiful part of France.
