Family of 4 had our best holiday ever!

This property is superb! We were delighted to find a clean, well equipped and homely lodge. Some of the less obvious items provided in the lodge that we made use of were the cold block to keep our picnic sandwiches cool, childs cutlery, a drawer full of tourist attraction leaflets, books and maps, DVD collection, washer drier machine, with two tablets and dishwasher tablets, stair gate, independent electric towel rails in both bathrooms, jug of milk for that well deserved cup of tea on arrival, and a lovely treat of scones with jam and clotted cream! We wished that we had booked a 2 week break and then would have made better use of the other facilities available such as a BBQ and patio furniture in the back garden and play tennis in the nearby court.
In terms of the location of the lodge in Cornwall, I would say that it was ideal. In fact our favourite day was spent just a few miles away in Tintagel, where there is a castle ruin set on magnificent coastline and then 3 miles along the coast in Boscastle. This village was in the news back in 2004 after it's dreadful flood.
4 miles away from the lodge is the village of Camelford. We stopped here to experience the recently awarded Best Fish and Chip take-away in the South-West Counties.
To the north-west, is Bude, where the nearest Supermarket is situated, and on our way there we stumbled across Widemouth Bay which was beautiful, particularly when the tide is out. We stopped and had a great time clambering on the rocks and in the pools which are scattered along the bay. As you are heading to Bude, from Davidstow look out for sign posts for the Scenic Coastal road and follow it all the way into the town itself. Widemouth bay is along this road.
We loved Cornwall, and will return in the future. There is so much to see and do; a week is not enough! More to the point; we would definitely book to stay in this wonderful property again.
Thank you Peter and Jane for contributing to our excellent holiday!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review, both for the lodge and the area. We are sure that many others will visit North Cornwall as a result of your enthusiasm. Cornwall has lots to offer all year round. Having experienced self catering accommodation ranging from excellent to abysmal ourselves, we did set out to provide everything we could, to make Waterside Lodge a “home from home”.
