This is the best located apartment in Villefranche sur Mer as it has 5 windows overlooking the port and beachfront . It is 70 metres from the restaurants and is very quiet. The apartment is luxuriously decorated with pink marble en suites and an independent large bathroom with a bath overlooking the bay. It is so close to the water that it is like living on a boat ! Each of the 3 bedrooms are large and two are en suite. The main bedroom overlooks the port. There are no stairs to climb as it is entered off Rue Poilu so is suitable for the infirm. At the waterfront it is 2 floors above the cobbled street which is a cul de sac. The area is over 2000 sq. ft. (180 sq. met) and is therefore larger than most houses but is laid out in the best possible way to ensure light floods all rooms. This is an exceptional property .... called ' The Seagulls' . Changeover day Saturday but flexible from october on.

Large apartment overlooking Port of Villefranche: Best apartment in Villefranche. The 3 bedroom apartment is very large and has a u shaped layout. Built in 1820 (and traversing Rue Obscure, dating from the 13th century) , the entrance has bedroom 1 to the left (2 single beds) , then a fully fitted Kitchen with a basement off , housing the air-conditioning, ironing, washer and dryer. Beyond the lower hall is the main room. Bedroom 2 and 3 each have huge sleigh beds with ensuite bathrooms. The main bedroom has 2 windows overlooking the port. Everything in the apartment is new , with a very high standard of furniture, bedding, curtains, fabrics, flooring etc. The 3 bathrooms are clad in Pink Portugese Marble and the main bathroom has a high back bath at the window overlooking the port ! All bathrooms have walk-in showers. Floors are Oak and the furniture is French Provencale style . Original paintings from French and Irish artists in all rooms. The kitchen is Cream Provencale with a tiled floor. Total area is over 2000 sq. feet making this the largest apartment in the Old Town .
The Seagulls : The location is unbeatable as it has 5 windows to the front (+ 6 at the back) and there are no stairs to climb. There are 2 balconies to the front . One is fitted with table and chairs. All ceilings are high as it was constructed from 3 old apartments made into one ! The main building dates from 1720 and Rue Obscure (underneath) from 13 th century . The basement has a separate entrance for bicycles etc if required.
A car is not necessary in Villefranche. However there is a public car park 120 yards away (€ 8 / day) and a free car park on the old Citadel (300 yds away) .

I bought this property because of the location. It took 8 months work to make it perfect . It traverses Rue Obscure from Rue du Poilu across to the front of the port. Has been advertised on Homeaway since 2008

I wanted to thank you for our exceptional accommodations in Villefranche. It was above and beyond our expectations. WE really cant say enough great things about The Seagulls. Everything was perfect, so with that, thank you!!!!!
Also, I may have left some artwork that I purchased while in VilleFranche in the apt. – 3 pieces to be exact, two small water colors and one mid size acrylic piece. Will you please check with your cleaning service to see if they were found, If so, I would be happy to send you my FedEx number so they could be shipped to me?!?
Again, we will all be in touch, as we plan on returning to Villefranche in the future.

Villefranche sur Mer is situated between Nice and Monte Carlo.... truly one of the world's greatest locations. The train station is 150 metres away and journey times are 7 minutes to the centre of Nice and 17 minutes to Monaco (Monte Carlo). The train will also take you to Italy ( 35 minutes) and San Raphael ( 90 minutes). The A8 motorway is 15 minutes by car. The apartment is in the centre of the Old Town so everything is less than 1 minute away .... bakery, supermarket, restaurants etc. However, the apartment is very quiet.
