Gate Cottage is a two bedroomed recently refurbished grade II listed cottage that sits alongside and above 'The Gate Inn' in Yanwath which has been awarded 'Cumbrian Dining Pub of the Year' in 2007 and 2009 2010 & 2011 by 'The Good Pub Guide'.

The cottage is ideal for people who love their food - with the option to eat in an award winning pub or create food in the fully equipped kitchen.

The Gate Inn, built in 1683, is set in the village of Yanwath, near picturesque Ullswater and the market town of Penrith. Also, very conveniently, only 5 minutes from the M6. Being on the doorstep of the Lake District National Park, it provides an ideal base to explore some of Lakeland's picturesque towns and villages.

The cottage features bespoke kitchen, contemporary bathroom and spacious and comfortable bedrooms and a large living space.

Downstairs is the designer kitchen with granite tops and integrated appliances (dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge and freezer). The cooker has 5 hobs and a double oven with a pine table for you to dine.

Upstairs, a large vaulted living room with original beams, 2 bedrooms and bathroom with under-floor heating, roll-top bath and power shower. All rooms have a TV & SKY.

Bed linen, towels, dressing gowns and welcome pack are all included. On arrival, you'll find a bottle of wine in the wine cooler and the basic essentials - tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, olive oil & balsamic vinegar, herbs & spices.

Gate cottage features: Dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge & freezer, microwave, 5 hob cooker, TVs in all rooms, DVD/CD player in living room, dab in kitchen, SKY TV, wireless internet connection, two travel cots and a high chair which can be converted into table and chair for a toddler, ample off-road parking, use of pub garden.

It is a really nice cottage,low doors, but being not so tall I had no bother. A very nice restaurant/village pub next door where the meals are first class and so was the service, really friendly people, close to Penrith and also handy for other places in and around the lakes.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway
