The Local Area - Olu Deniz: Olu Deniz Mountain Valley sits at the bottom of 'Baba Dag' or 'Father Mountain'. Olu Deniz, which is only a short journey away, has one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey and also the world famous Blue Lagoon. At both the beach & lagoon there are a wide selection of water sports available and speed boats can be hired. There are also daily boat trips which depart from the main beach, touring around the beautiful Olu Deniz bays and include a barbeque lunch on board. In Olu Deniz there is also a small selection of bars, restaurants and 'lokantas' (specialising in Turkish cuisine). You can go diving but for this is unlikely to satisfy the advanced or more experienced diver!
The Local Area - Hisaronu & Fethiye : For the more lively, nearby Hisaronu village which is only a 5 minute walk away from Mountain Valley, offers a more bustling nightlife and a greater selection of shops, restaurants & bars as well as a weekly outdoor market where many bargains can be found and haggled over! The nearby town of Fethiye is only a 15 minute dolmus (the local bus service) ride away. This is where you will find a wealth of jewellery/leather/traditional Turkish carpet shops as well as many other local attractions and historical sites. A huge outdoor market is also held here every Tuesday. Fethiye harbour has some of the best views of this region of the South West Turkish coast - also known as the 'Turquoise' coast, and also, for fish lovers, some of the most delicious seafood!

Why Pippa Sillitoe chose Olu Deniz
I bought the villa because I wanted my family to have somewhere safe and private to stay and relax during holidays and family events. In fact, most of my relatives, friends and guests go back year after year, treat the house like their second home and never seem to tire of the view, our new Turkish friends and the growing selection of local amenities.
Just when you think you know everything about the area, you discover another walks with an even more breathtaking panorama. The area just grows on you with each visit and before you know it, the villa has witnessed so many happy events - its become the place you go to where birthdays are celebrated, engagement proposals are made, wedding parties are based and births are announced.
What makes this villa unique
The villa is relaxing and quiet in an upmarket part of Ovacik town and is walking distance to everything - bars, restaurants, shops, the beach, the forest, the historic and biblical Lycian way and is well connected by public transport. But thankfully, not close enough to hear the clash of dance music and late night revelry - location wise - it gives you the best of both worlds.
The house is not overlooked but has a commanding view of the valley that sweeps before you. The vine clad balcony is shaded by billowy muslim drapes on both sides and overlooks the pool where you can read and sip your cocktails either on a sofa or lounger or by the 6 seater rattan dining table. Much of your time at the villa will be spent outdoors, so what better way than to pick a book or magazine from the library under our stairs, watch the kids splash in the pool, or fire up a bbq while you enjoy the tranquility of the pine trees and the quiet of the valley and hills
