Canico Vacation Rental apartment: Caniço de Baixo

We had a great time in Madeira and enjoyed our stay in your apartment. It was clean and ready for our arrival. It is in a great location with a wonderful view of Reis Magos Beach with the Galo and Riu Palace off to the right side. We can easily walk down to the beach promenade. On Saturday night we walked down to the promenade and enjoyed the folklore dancers and traditional Portuguese music not to mention they have all kinds of food booths and are serving dinner on the promenade. It is very nice. There is a bus stop right in front of the apartment for those that don't have a vehicle. But I highly recommend a vehicle. The center of Canico is not far from the apartment. There is a shopping center and even a bowling alley. The last time I was in Madeira was 12 years ago so many things have changed. I would definitely recommend this apt. For us it was perfect. There was myself, my husband and our 8 year old son. We slept in the two bottom bedrooms and the upstairs loft was great for my son to set up his toys and play up there. It was perfect.

The only recommendation I would like to make is that we could have used an extra set of bath towels. Although, it wasn't so bad, because there is a washer in the apt so we just kept throwing the towels in the wash. But an extra set of bath towels with wash cloths would have been handy.

We stayed in Madeira for three weeks and enjoyd every day. It was really nice to live in such a well-equipped and clean apartment and we found Canico to be a good location for getting around the island. The apartment was located very close to a beach and a nice promenade. The balcony was large and we loved the ocean view.

We spend a week in Madeira, and had a wonderful time in this apartment. The view from the balcony (and the bed!) is just great and the area is very nice. There is even a sandy beach suitable for children just a few hundred meters away. We also discovered quite a few nice cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood, but often made dinner at "home" sharing a bottle of portugese wine and watching the full moon over the ocean. Very romantic!
