Gozo is an open air museum with Ggantija temples in Xaghra being the most visited in the whole of the Maltese archipelago. Ramla l Hamra beach is just a ten minute drive away, whilst hondoq ir Rummien is Qala's own pebbly beach. From April to end September every town and village has got its own patron saint and celebrations are well organised especially around the week end. Sub acqua diving is also well catered for by numerous PADI affiliated schools. Marsalforn and Xlendi are the coastal resorts where most restaurants and eateries are found. Eating out is very well catered with lots of fresh fish, pasta, fresh meats and local fruit and vegetables. Local wines and olive oils are not to be missed.

To make life at an easier pace from July 2011 new bus service in all of Malta and Gozo make car hire not totally essential. Please visit www.arriva.com.mt for more information and timetables.

Fantastic Holiday!

5 of 5
Submitted: October 26, 2012 Stayed: September 2012
We chose Gozo and this Villa for our honeymoon totally by chance. We originally thought of going on an all inclusive somewhere further afield, but then the idea of a private Villa came to us!
We loved this place!
The Villa is well equipped with everything you could need on a holiday. The pool is amazing and the back yard holds sun for a good 8 hours a day. There are lots of sun beds and a table and chairs for Al Fresco dining.

The weather was between 25 and 31 our whole stay. There were some storms on our 3rd and 4th night there, with amazing lightning, but apart from that the weather was brilliant! The pool ended up full of debris and leaves, some of which we tried to remove with the net, but the poll man did an excellent job of restoring the pool once he visited!
Even though we read reviews about there being a washing machine and to pack light, we still over packed and ended up with clothes we didn't wear. There's lots of drying space up on the roof.
There were 2 bedrooms, so probably a bit too much space for us, but we loved having the whole house to ourselves.
There is plenty of equipment for self catering in the kitchen. We spent a lot of time eating in, and BBQing, but also visited some local restaurants. We'd recommend Tapas from 22Four in the square in Qala (Amazing Olives), and Pizza from Xerri L Bukket just around the corner- which has fantastic views of the Gozo ferry crossing.
The house itself is beautiful, and couldn't be better.

Arkadia in Victoria has a fantastic supermarket, which has a brilliant meat selection for the BBQ. There is a fantastic selection of Mediterranean deli items, and Wine is cheap as chips! There is a homewares shop upstairs which was useful when I had to replace a couple of glasses and an oven dish I broke (I am incredibly clumsy).

If you are into history, there are lots of places to see. We visited the Toy Museum which is small but interesting. We visited the Citadel which was fantastic. Ggantija is a must see- oldest free standing structures.

Our definite must do would be to go to Dwejra Bay and take advantage of the incredibly cheap boat trips, and to see the Azure Window before it is destroyed by the elements.

We have already talked about coming back to the Villa for future Wedding Anniversaries. We also have friends who love Malta and like the idea of coming along. I expect we'll be back, if not next year, the year after.

My husband and I would like to thank Ray for a brilliant stay!
Owner's Response: Rebecca and Gareth were the ideal just married couple enjoying ta Mananni and Gozo. We are very happy that they enjoyed themselves so much. Looking forward to having them back very soon.

Ta' Mannani is a wonderful farmhouse and we had a fantastic stay there. There were 6 of us (3 adults, 2 Children and a Baby). The farmhouse was much bigger than we had imagined. The location is fantastic, a very short walk to some beautiful views of Comino and Malta and a 5 minute drive (25 min walk) to Hondoq Bay, a beautiful secluded beach.

Raymond was very helpful throughout the booking process and the holiday itself.

We'd highly recommend a trip to see the Azure Window and The Way of the Cross (Ta Pinu Shrine). It only takes 30 minutes to get to the other side of the island and we loved going out in the car and exploring the coastal villages, knowing that we wouldnt get lost!

A wonderful holiday!
Owner's Response: It is always our greatest pleasure to host such wonderful guests in such wonderful surroundings, thank you.

Yet another gem in the bejewelled crown of Gozo

5 of 5
Submitted: October 3, 2011 Stayed: September 2011
It has been once again, our delight to return to this wonderful island; each time, we have sought accommodation with 'that special edge'. To be fair, we've done pretty well over the years, but Raymond's fine house, is slap-bang in the sweet spot between quality & price.
Ta Mannani, is by far the cleanest villa in which we have stayed, its size is sufficient for any family, with access to a ground floor bedroom for those less able excursionists. The kitchen too, is well appointed, again with space to spare.
I particularly liked the free internet access - superb for checking restaurant menus, locations of attractions, mapping walks, writing reviews & publishing images.
The pool is a fair size & while the walled garden does limit the sun to a mere 6 or 7 hours a day(!), it does aid in preventing unwanted material from entering the scrupulously clean pool. The terrace around the pool also works well, with sufficient space around.
Further, when the sun dips beneath the Yardarm, there's always another hour to savour up on the roof where, incidentally, there is sufficient drying space for a full rugby squad's kit, so no problem drying those holiday clothes - pack light!
As if anyone needed to feel any more secure on Gozo, the property is tucked away behind a lockable wooden arched door, down an alley, just a few feet from the road & a few yards from the breathtaking views across the Gozo Channel from the Belvedere - go on, sit up there after the sun has done its bit, take with you a glass of your favourite Marsovin & greet the Gozitans as you would wish to be greeted, they'll pay you back in spades. Just try your hand at a little of their tongue, always raises a smile, even if one doesn't always get it quite right...

Top tip :- get a car, even better, a jeep. Stacks of fun on 'those roads'.
I'd recommend this villa to anyone & everyone.

So in summary:

A truly smashing house, in a great location, in a super village, on a magnificent island, with wonderful people who form a tremendous nation.

Raymond; Nag?ti tassew nirringrazzjak mill-qieg? nett tal-qlub tag?na!

Sal-?in li jmiss...

Owner's Response: It is always our pleasure to make our guests feel at home and enjoy Gozo and its people, and this time it looks like we have hit it right again. Jack and Rachel are one of the sweetest couples to have stayed at ta Mananni. Happy return to all our past guests and look forward to have new ones too! Thank you.

Another great Gozo holiday

This was not our first stay at Raymonds beautiful farmhouse in Qala every visit gets better and better as we get to know everyone in Qala better, Qala is that kind of place, the local people always are so friendly and helpful plus Raymonds accommodation is a perfect base to stay and for you to explore Gozo. We will be back again later this year, the weather in July and August is very hot so be aware but having a beautiful pool makes it bearable, if you have very young children then maybe June or Sep are better options. So I say thanks again to Raymond and all the lovely people of Gozo especially Joseph and Kevin at Il Bukkett just two minutes walk away. This visit my son got married in Qala and the day was perfect with beautiful weather guarenteed it was much cheaper than England and a lot more personal. So ciao everyone until September.

Owner's Response: Sometimes I find it very difficult to reply as I feel that once you have a guest coming again and again we do have something good, I personally thank all the Gozitans and All our guests who make this holiday combination a perfect one! Thank You from our hearts.
