Photos and Description of the Carmarthenshire vacation cottage rental

The smaller of two cottages we have recently converted from the redundant milking parlour which ajoins our farmhouse, on a beef farm and small thoroughbred stud. The cottage has wonderful views across the beautiful Towy valley, and is conveniently situated between the old market towns of Llandovery and Llandeilo, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This region is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor leisure activities, such as walking, climbing, mountain biking, fishing, birdwatching etc., and the location is a good base for touring with numerous visitor attractions and the coast being within easy driving distance.

The Brecon Beacons National Park extends from Llandeilo in the west to Hay-on-Wye in the east, covering some 520 square miles. The scenery is spectacular with diverse countryside including high mountain peaks, gorges, waterfalls, lakes, open hills and moorland, as well as wooded valleys and lowlands with soft rolling farmland and clear meandering rivers. The park can be explored on foot, horseback, bicycle or by car, and is rich in wild life. Nearby gardens to visit include the National Botanic Garden of Wales, featuring the Great Glass House, the restored Garden of Aberglasney, and Gelli Aur (Golden Grove) Country Park with its Arboretum. Pembrey Country Park provides access to Cefn Sidan Beach, a 7 mile expanse of sandy beach which has been described as one of Europes best beaches.

The cottage provides very comfortable accommodation for 4 - with 1 double and 1 twin bedroom. Downstairs there is a hall with a large cloakroom/shower room leading off. As well as the shower the cloakroom contains a wash hand basin and wc. There is a lovely lounge with a comfortable suite, and a separate spacious kitchen/diner. The kitchen is fully fitted with a modern range of units and includes a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, washing machine and fridgefreezer. The kitchen dining area opens on to the patio from where the stunning views can be enjoyed, whilst Red Kites circle overhead. From the patio there is a large lawned area with plenty of space for children to play safely. The 2 bedrooms are upstairs where there is also a bath room with bath, hand basin and wc. As the cottage is newly converted the latest insulation and safety features have been used. The cottage is centrally heated, with all rooms having a radiator.
