Three double bedrooms -Two bathrooms - Sleeps 6 & 1 baby

Quinta Diana is a simple countryside Algarvean single storey villa, set in 1.5 acres of its own indigenous gardens. Quinta Diana boasts its own solar heated, natural salt water pool, outdoor showers, three double air conditioned bedrooms, large patios, one with wonderful built-in barbeque. There is satellite TV, DVD and music system. The kitchen is fully but simply equipped. Quinta Diana is located in the peaceful, tranquil Tavira countryside and is within easy reach of three 18 hole golf courses, superb beaches, Vila Nova da Cacela village, Tavira town and restaurants. The villa enjoys privacy and seclusion. An English lady living nearby is on call throughout your holiday and a supplementary house cleaning service is available.

Golfing facilities: There are three superb 18 hole golf courses within close proximity to the villa. All three accept non-members. Clubs and karts may be hired. Many other well known championship courses are only forty-five minutes away in the Quinta do Lago area. Remember to take your handicap card with you!

Tennis courts are available for hire at Quinta de Oliverais (Eurotel hotel) just coming out of Tavira towards the villa on the left hand side of the road. Open from 8.00am to 8.00pm at Euro5/hour. There are also courts at Pedras Rei in Cabanas.

Beaches and swimming : The nearest beach is at Manta Rota , about 5 - 10 minutes drive away from the villa. This beach considered by many to be one of the best in the eastern Algarve is long, wide and enjoys excellent bathing and blue flag status. It forms part of the protected area of Ria Formosa. The small seaside town has cafes and restaurants. Access to the beach is convenient and easy and a shower facility has recently been added. Ample parking is available. A walk along the sand either to the left or right of the arrival point will almost certainly take you away from any crowds in the peak season.

The island of Tavira (Ilha Tavira) some 25 minutes from the villa is located just off the pretty port city of Tavira - a short boat trip away. The island has 6 kms of superb beach with bars/cafes. Bathing all year round is normally safe. Boats to the island operate throughout the year and leave from quayside (summer only) and Quatra Aguas. The ride out takes about 10 minutes and costs around two Euro.

Activities and events: Tavira is the cultural centre of the eastern Algarve (Sotavento) and as the villa is only 25 minutes away, you are sure to catch one of the events on Tavira's annual events calendar. Be it folk dancing or singing, annual religious processions, art exhibitions at the 'old market' or at the Palacio da Galeria, or simply sitting in the central gardens like the Portuguese locals do, you will enjoy yourself! Furthermore, Tavira has an old 'Moors' quarter with Moorish architecture and castle ruins. Not to be missed. The Igrejas (churches) of the area also need a visit.

The Moors controlled Tavira from around 743AD to 1153AD. Tavira as a town (declared a Cidade in 1153AD) is revered by the Portuguese locals for its historical significance, charm, originality and its lovely 'Rio Gilao' flowing through the centre.

Quinta Diana has a rural setting nestling in a small hamlet -Malhada de Figueira- together with 6 or 7 other residencies. Whilst set in the countryside, the villa is within 5, 7 and 15 minutes easy drive of the villages of Vila Nova da Cacela, Manta Rota with its lengthy expanse of white sandy beaches and historical Tavira (cidade) respectively. Cacela Velha - an old fortress is of local interest perched on a cliff: Praia Verde offers a beach close to pine woods. The old ferry port of Vila Real de Santa Antonia is also of interest. A trip to Seville, Spain is about one and half hours by car.

Other Activities: Fresh fish and fruit and vegetable market every weekday and Saturday morning

Golf: Monte Rei opened in 2010 and is less than 1 km from the villa - top level champion course - worth a look even if you don't play! The 18th with its numerous bunkers is a real challenge. The superb twin Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima 18 hole golf courses are within less than 10 minutes of the villa. Opened in 2002 and 2003 respectively they are set in beautiful, undulating natural vegetation and old olive trees, playing golf on these courses is sure to rejuvenate your soul! The courses are in excellent condition. Seaviews are plentiful from most of the holes as the course is built within the Ria Formosa wetlands nature reserve. The clubhouse has all the necessary comforts of restaurant, bar and shower facilities. This course is open to non-members and they don't seem to ask for handicap cards! Clubs and karts are available for hire. There is also a driving range. If you are a lone player amongst your party and fancy a game call in to reception and the manager may be able to fix you up with a two or three ball either same day or next day.

Other nearby golf courses include a pretty and panoramic 18 holes at Castro Marim (towards the Spanish border) and Benamor (just off the road at Cabanas).

  • Check-in time is from 3.00pm on day of arrival through to 10.00am on day of departure. I am willing to be flexible about arrival and departure days if this can be mutually acceptable. I do not take any other monies or deposits other than for stays in the cooler times when gas heating may be needed.
  • To secure your villa booking, a 30% deposit of the total amount is required.The balance outstanding must be settled at least 31 days prior to check-in. The deposit is non-refundable on cancellation.
  • Rates for 2013 have been held since 2007 rates!
    If you are child-free try a holiday in the non-peak seasons - flights will be cheaper and the golfing season has teed off! There are two fabulous courses within 10 min drive at Quinta da Cima and Quinta de Ria and a new course - Monte Rei - opened in October 2007 - about 2km from the villa - check out on the web!.

Notes: The country side villa is set in 1.5 acres of fenced indigenous gardens with fig and cork trees, vines and a variety of flowering and shrub plants. The surrounding countryside is typical of the area and is peaceful and relaxing. There is no passing traffic and no overhead flights. The villa is centrally heated and all three double bedrooms are air-conditioned with simple fitted wardrobes. All beds are king size with two single (2.0m long) comfortable mattresses. Complete sets of bed linen, bath and beach towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped, workable and practical. The solar heated natural salt water pool is 8m x 4m and varies between 1.3 to 1.6m in depth. The pool area is private and set a short distance from the villa. The path and pool may be lit at night for evening swims. An English lady who lives nearby will welcome you and be on call throughout your stay. A supplementary house cleaning service may be arranged if required.

Perfect getaway.

2 couples with a need to get away and relax in peace and secludity with a heated pool and outdoor space for BBQ's and relaxing on an evening! That was the remit. We got everything we wanted and more. The pool was more than warm enough in May. The villa was lovely, well, kept and more than enough space for all of us. The outdoor space on 3 sides of the villa allowed us to chase the sun or avoid the breeze. The pool and area is lovely. No overlooking properties or people. Lazy days round the pool and local Cerveja and BBQ on an evening. A perfect getaway with everything you need to relax and enjoy. Thank you. We will return one day.

Um Algarve sossegado,o que não parece possível, mas é.
Praia mais próxima a 7km. Um percurso fácil de fazer e que nos permite o sentir estar no campo.Apoio para a casa se necessário com a D.Lucrécia sempre prestável e pronta a ajudar.
Lugar tranquilo,combina na perfeição uma férias campo-praia. Excelente para estar em Família.

My family have stayed here for three years running. We love the peace and tranquility of the location, yet only 5 minutes drive to the nearest beach. The villa and the grounds were kept very clean - the pool is very well maintained.

We would have no problem in recomending this villa to anyone and will hopefully be returning again this year.

A perfect place to de-stress !.

Very peaceful location, but only a 5 minute drive from the nearby town of Nova Da Cacela for shops & restaurants and a couple of minutes further on to a magnificent beach. If you are rich golfer the new course of Monte Rei is less than 3 minutes away. Great pool set apart from the main building, with plenty of terrace space for sunbeds (of which there were ample). Huge garden - ideal for adventurous kids.
The barbecue & outdoor dining area were well used, as was the hammock !.
Internally, the furnishings are simple but more than adequate and the large kitchen has everything you need & more, including a coffee machine. As the weather was so good, the satellite T.V. was rarely watched, nor did we make use of the videos & cd's provided, though it was nice to know they were there if required.
