Acapulco Playa Vacation Rental apartment: Nerja

We have just returned from a week's holiday in this apartment. Clean, bright and in an excellent location, with a view to die for! Many thanks to Terry and Jane for their warm welcome and faultless hospitality. Everything you would expect was present and corrrect and the beds were so comfortable, with the sound of waves breaking on the beach below, it was a miracle that I got out of bed in the morning!
If you didn't get up, you would miss breakfast on the balcony, watching the sun rise and all that Nerja has to offer.
Just around the corner is the famous Balcon de Europa. Go there in the evening at the weekend and you will be part of the atmosphere created by the Spanish tradition for family evening strolls. Stop off at V-Italiano on the south side of the church for ice-cream, coffee, cake, snacks etc- great service. Caves of Nerja are well worth a visit for their sheer enormity. Frigiliana, a short drive away, is a typical Spanish mountain village. Without a doubt, the Alhambra in Granada is a trip not to be missed, combining history, architecture, culture and beautiful gardens, but make the effort for the views - just stunning. Be aware that you must arrive before 2pm or certain areas of the Alhambra will not be accessible to you. Likewise, there is a time allocated to you for entry to the Palace. Be there precisely on time or you will miss your chance to be blown away. This is a day trip with lots of walking and stairs.
A word of warning regarding the numerous beaches around Nerja; do not wander down to Burriana beach expecting to be able to walk back to the town along the beach. The return journey involves a steep hill.
There are many bars and restaurants to delight in town and this review would not be complete without a wholehearted recommendation for a restaurant in front of the Torricilla Playa called "Anita Bonita". The food is flavoursome and very reasonably priced and the staff are attentive and friendly.
