Rincon de la Victoria Vacation Rental villa: Macharaviaya

My family and I have just (literally!) returned from our holiday at Casa Sydney, and this villa is so beautiful and the welcome from the owners so friendly that I felt compelled to write a rave review about it straight away!

My family (including my OAP parents and two teenage sons) went to Casa Sydney unsure really what to expect - choosing a villa for this age range is difficult! But Casa Sydney was absolutely perfect for our needs. The villa is exceptionally well equipped and is spotlessly clean throughout. It is about 5km up a mountain road from Rincon de la Victoria, and as such is perfectly tranquil and peaceful - the loudest noise that you hear at this villa are the local herd of mountain goats bells tinkling. For rest and relaxation, this villa is absolutely perfect.

Inside the villa, the owners have taken every care to ensure that the facilities are absolutely spot on, from the beautifully fitted kitchen (for those who want to cater for themselves), to the very comfortable bedrooms (all air conditioned). - and everything has been very tastefully completed. Add to this the English TV that is provided - and I shudder to say it - but even our elder teenage son was happy!

Outside, there is a terrace area which is shaded from the heat of the sun during the hottest part of the day (for those who wish to take respite) and the pool area is a perfect size for all those who want to laze around in a cooler place.

The owners of the villa have very thoughtfully put together a drawer full of information about local attractions, but also have provided very detailed information about the simpler things - such as the local supermarkets. Add to that the information that they gave to us about local restaurants, and they even took the trouble to explain the Spanish words that we would need to order our food to our liking!

I cannot praise this villa highly enough - we have rented six villas from Holiday Rentals, and this one is the best by a very long way. As such I sincerely hope that when we come to book next year's holiday this villa is still available!

Having said all of that I would say don't book this villa if:

- you don't like peace and tranquility! (if you want to be in amongst the nightlife of the towns then this might be just too quiet - even though they are only 15 minutes away).

- you don't intend to hire a car (as you will definitely need it).

Casa Sydney can only be described as 1st class holiday living accommodation. Perfectly situated high up in the hills near Malaga.
The description regarding location , layout and facilities is 100% correct and more !
We vere given instructions on how to find the villa from Malaga airport. We followed this and had no problem,while our hosts Alan and Ilin were there to meet us. They showed us around their beautiful house , and as we arrived at the weekend, they had provided us with all essentials to meet our needs until the following monday.
After unpacking we sat down on the terasse, and shared the bottle of champagne and vine provided by our hosts ,and whilst enjoying the beautiful sunset we could feel the tensness of our journey being replaced with a lovely relaxing feeling . Then we knew this would be a perfect holiday.
The house itself, swimming pool,and remainder of the property was perfectly prepared for our arrival, giving us an immediate feeling of luxury.
Panoramic scenery around the local landscape and further down to the meditaranien sea. Warm summer evenings descending into darkness while monlight nights create a torchlight shadow on the sea giving a feeling of cerenity and warmt.
To be honest the advert for this villa does not really do it justice, as it has much more to offer than what is indicated. The villa itself is situated no more that 10 min drive away from ’ civilised suburbia’, Local to an excellent golf course and access to the main east/vest motorway along the cost of Costa del Sol.
With a car it is easy to get to the beach, shops and resturants no more than 15 min drive away.
We highly recommend Casa Sydney if you are looking for a ’peace and tranquility ’ holiday in the sun, and not a ”charter fever” holiday.
Our hosts Alan & Ilin were extremely kind and helpful tho-ought the whole period giving advise on places to visit and things to do.To be honest we felt perfectly at home.Our warm thanks to them both in creating this palace in the sun !

All the reviews and the description of this villa are 100% correct. The villa and surroundings are absolutely stunning. This is the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday with all the facilities you may need to unwind. We rarely found ourselves out of 'neutral' for the 2 weeks that we stayed ! The villa itself was beautiful, with good sized rooms and all the facilities you could need, and more. When you eventually prize yourself away from the pool or sun-loungers, you may wish to have a look at the fantastic scenery and wildlife through the binoculars provided. The villa even has UK TV if you just can't manage to miss the soaps !

The owners were the perfect hosts, even stocking up some short-term provisions for our breakfast as we arrived late in the evening. The cleanliness was exemplory and there was even a large BBQ which we used a few times to great effect.

We would definately recommend this villa to friends and family, and it is best suited for those looking for peace, tranquility, seclusion, fantastic weather and spectacular views. The villa may not be perfect for those with young children, due to some of the steep hills around the perimeter and 5ft drop to the pool level, but we travelled with a 20-month old and didn't consider the hazards to be any worse than a typical hotel pool and communal area. We all had a great time.

Unless you are a mad-keen cyclist, (there were quite a few we saw braving the hill !) or hill-walker, you will need a car as the villa is 1500ft above sea level about 5km from the nearest town (Rincon de la Victoria) and Anoreta golf course. For us, the 20 minute drive to Torro del Mar was a better option for restaurants and bars than Rincon de la Victoria which is itself 10 minutes drive away. Having said that the villa is so good that we found that we didn't really want to go out in the evening more than a few times over the break.

The owners recommended some nice day trips and are well-informed on the area having lived not far away for some years. The personal touch makes a big difference and we certainly felt like this place had it.
