Sauzet Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

Piecourt was built in the 18thC but was destroyed by fire in the 19thC. With only three walls standing the owners have lovingly rebuilt the house in the traditional style with stone walls and oak beams. It is set in an acre, with mature fruit trees and shrubs and superb views across the surrounding countryside. Guests can relax under the trees on one of the many benches in the garden, and enjoy meals under the long covered terrace to the side of the house. The property is surrounded by vineyards and woodlands, and guests can walk through the woods and countryside to the little village of Sauzet which is 500m and has a small range of local shops. The villages of Montcuq and Prayssac have bustling markets and guests can enjoy wine-tasting at the local vineyards. Piecourt is available for longer lets and also for long weekend breaks in MID season.

Nearest main town: Cahors -20 minutes

Accommodation: The sitting/dining room with its flagged floor, high beamed ceiling, open fire set into a raised hearth and oak staircase give the room a delightful ambience. A double bed-settee offers additional sleeping capacity and can be situated in one of the bedrooms if required. The views through the tall windows look across the pool and gardens. The kitchen, which opens onto the covered terrace, is a very good size and is equipped with a gas range, an American style fridge/freezer, microwave and table and chairs. The ground floor has a double bedroom and a children’s bedroom with bunk beds and two single beds. Bathroom with basin. Separate wc. The charming oak staircase leads to the upper floor that has another seating area with TV and overlooks the sitting room. On the upper floor there are three bedrooms. One double, one twin and one with joined twin beds that can be separated if required. Shower-room with wc and basin.

The pool is one level throughout, is situated in full sunshine, and has internal steps and a paved patio.

Montcuq: A lively village dominated by the 12c Tour Comtale with a superb Sunday morning market, restaurants leisure lake and local shops.

Generally quieter than most regions, the departments covered are Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot & Dordogne. there is something is here to suit all the family, including: fishing, tennis, walking, golf, cycling, horse-riding, lake swimming, windsurfing, canoeing and much, much, more. Normally the area has a moderate climate with long Spring and Autumn seasons and Summers that can be very hot. Essentially it is the heart of farming land and you can expect to see lush landscapes with spectacular fields of sunflowers, maize and tobacco and all through the year a wonderful variety of changing colours and hues.
