Large Sitting/Dining room and Kitchen/Dining room all with beautiful sea views. Four comfortable bedrooms; beds made up with quality bed linen and fluffy towels awaiting your arrival. Two shower-rooms with toilet and hand-basin.

Enjoy complete privacy in lovely big garden.

Durrus village, just a five minute walk away, has Supermarket, Pubs, Restaurants, and General Hardware Store. Bantry town with large Supermarkets, banking facilities, hotels and restaurants is a ten minute drive. Enjoy a relaxing walk along the seashore or, for the more energetic, the Sheeps Head Way walking route. Pebble beaches a few minutes drive away/sandy beaches 20/30 mins drive. Good rock sea-fishing (free, rod provided). Michelin star 'Good Things Cafe' restaurant/cookery school nearby.

Welcome pack of cheese and wine, french bread, irish creamery butter, tea, coffee and milk provided.

Really Lovely Property in a Delightful Area: Great location; very private yet close to all amenities. Village Pubs; (Ross's pint of Guinness is second to none) some have Music most weekends. Fabulous dining experiences available; from Pub Grub to Gourmet Restaurants - the Michelin star 'Good Things Cafe' witih regular cookery classes during the off season - all within a short walk. Lovely pebble beaches a few minutes drive along the shore, sandy beaches 10 to 30 min drive. Wonderful walks; from a leisurely stroll by the sea to miles of gentle hill walking along The Sheeps Head Way.

Bantry House activities include year-round Concert series, the West Cork Chamber Music Festival and the West Cork Literary Festival.

West Cork Garden Trail members open their gardens to visitors in Spring and Summer. Cronin's Forge produces Wrought Iron Works locally, available in Harrods and elsewhere. Durrus Cheese is also to be found in Harrods but you can sample it straight from the source.

Cork Airport Collect Option: We can arrange for up to four people to be collected and returned from/to Cork Airport if required at the very nominal charge of €60 per journey.

This home was everything we hoped for and more. My wife and I, our 16 year old son, and three others (niece/ 2 nephews age 17 to 24) stayed for a week, and couldn't have been more comfortable. Plenty of places to sit and read, play cards and chat. Impeccably clean and well maintained, with a warm greeting from the owner on arrival. The house is on the lovely Sheep's Head Peninsula, with beautiful views of the bay, and the sounds of sea and the country (sheep on the other side of the hedge!) An easy walk into town for newspaper and bread in the morning, and a pleasant stroll home from one of the delightful pubs in the evening. We'll definitely be back--soon, I hope. West Cork is an undiscovered gem, with all of the beauty of the Ring of Kerry, Dingle, etc., but none of the crowds and tourist buses. The village of Durrus is thoroughly pleasant and real, nothing touristy about it. The nearby town of Bantry has good restaurants and pubs, and always something going on (the West Cork Literary Festival the week we were there.) Just a wonderful experience!

Perfect In Every Way!!

It has been my parents dream to visit Ireland. We stayed with them at Nuala's and Fintan's house for 1 week and it was perfect in every way. The pubs were just a walk away and the food at the Gateway was superb. The house accommodated the 4 of us nicely and the views were some of the best in all of Ireland. Dave and I challenged ourselves to a walk up to the Durrus Cheese Factory our last day and were not disappointed. The owner greeted us as if we were neighbors and sold us the cheese we had come for. The walk is very scenic and is about 1.5 miles 1 way...although it will seem quite a bit longer than that! The location was perfect for day trips to The Ring of Kerry, Kinsale and Midelton for the tour of the Jameson Distillery. We all slept so well each night. The beds were very comfortable and warm. Fintan met us upon our arrival in Durrus at Ross's Bar and made us feel welcomes immediately. Wine, fresh bread and butter along with milk and juice awaited our arrival at the cottage. The Good Eats Cafe is just around the corner...perhaps we'll take a class on a future trip! If you choose to stay in this fabulous Ireland retreat you will not be disappointed! Make sure to stop into O'Sullivan's and enjoy a pint with Daniel and Angela...Say hi to the from us and enjoy!

Wonderfule week in Durrus

We had a most pleasant stay at Nuala's; house and surroundings very nice, town very well situated between Sheep Head's and other county Cork peninsulae, easy acces to County Kerry as well. And we also that wonderful sunny and warm week in late april.

This is a wonderful house and an excellent location! The place was cozy, well-heated, and supplied with everything you could ever need for a lovely stay. Great views, lots of windows, a fireplace, comfy beds and comforters. The owners made us feel instantly at home...Additionally, the Durrus (a refreshingly non-touristy town) location is perfect for day trips in all directions, for hiking and small-town shopping. We will definitely return as soon as we can! Thanks Nuala and Fintan...

Wonderful

My husband and I stayed at Nuala's house June 2010. My only regret - that it was only a week. The house was perfect in every way. Nuala's family are warm and gracious hosts. The countryside everything I imagined it would be and then some. Truly a wonderful experience from start to finish.
