A beautiful pine lodge with all the comforts of home in a spectacular location. The lodge is privately owned and is situated in unspoilt surroundings. If you are looking for something different then look no further. Its elevated position ensures you are not overlooked, offering privacy and lovely views across Troutbeck valley.

Higher Lodge is situated in Limefitt Park in the beautiful Troutbeck Valley. Troutbeck is one of Lakelands most beautiful valleys capturing the very essence of the Lake District National Park - a friendly place of peace and tranquillity set amidst truly breath taking scenery. Its location at the heart of the Lake District offers everything the lakes have become famous for practically on the doorstep.

Well behaved dogs accepted.

Higher Lodge is situated in Limefitt Park in the beautifull Troutbeck Valley. Troutbeck is one of Lakelands most beautifull valleys capturing the very essence of the Lake District National Park - a friendly place of peace and tranquillity set amidst truly breath taking scenery. It's location at the heart of the lake Disrict offers everything the lakes have become famous for practically on the doorstep.

Higher Lodge is perfectly placed for a peacefull holiday whilst being close enough to major towns and visitor centres for those who want to explore the Lake District. Windermere, Bowness, and Ambleside contain many interesting shops and are all within a 5 to 10 minute drive, for larger stores the market town of Kendal is only a 20 minute drive.

On site facilities include a Pub, a shop, adventure playground, football/volleyball field, river pool and direct access to the fells.

There are two other pubs within walking distance, the renowned Queens Head a classic 17th century coaching inn and the Mortal Man. The Queens Head has a fantastic menu and an evening spent there will put the icing on the cake.

HIGHER LODGE - LIMEFITT PARK (HONEYMOON STAY)

Higher Lodge on Limefitt Park is a lovely place to escape to. 5 minutes drive from Windermere it is far enough away to escape the hussle of the village.

Paul and Dawn listed the property perfectly - even forwarding us extra photographs of the smaller room as our daughter was staying with us. The property was clean, tidy and maintained to a good standard.

We had a surprise on arrival as a bottle of pink cava was waiting for us. This went down very well at 3pm on a Friday afternoon!! The cupboards are full of pots and pans, glasses and plates - enough for any home from home. The store cupboard is full of bird feed which kept my daughter and my camera addict new husband occupied.

The site itself is immaculate. A river runs along the far side of the site leading towards the kids play area. There is a shop, looks small, but it is stocked with everything you may need and the Haybarn Pub does spectacular food and a good array of drinks.

All in all a great lodge on a great site with the most fantastic scenery.
Actually on that note - Higher Lodge is perfect as it looks straight out on to the opposite fell. There are no lodges in front remotely near enough to spoil the view. Having had a a walk around the site we think this lodge is in one of the best vantage points.

A QUIET BASE FOR A WALKING HOLIDAY

Booked at the last minute so wasnt expecting much...well, weren't we surprised! In a lovely location, secluded and quiet but with facilities for the children. Inside of the property had all mod cons, very tastefully decorated, clean and well provided. Would def book again.

BRILLIANT

This was our third stay at this cabin and each time no matter what the weather we can honestly say our stay was awsome, the cabin is spotless and very comfortable the area is outstanding the staff at the onsite restaurant were very frendly and helpful and the meals were very resonable in price and very very tasty after a really lovely meal you can go and have a lovely walk with your pet on many routes in the area, work up an appetite and have another meal later in the evening.

Yes, we can honestly say that we recommend this cabin and we will definetaly be booking again next year, 5***** rating

Superb, relaxing weekend in November. Windermere is only 10 minutes away and Ambleside just a little longer, or you can go straight out on to the fells. Beautiful location in Troutbeck, very secluded with great facillities on site. The lodge was like a home from home. There are 2 great pubs that do good food nearby. The Haybarn pub on site and The Queens Head 5 minutes up the road. Would highly recommend and will be returning in the Spring.

FANTASTIC

This was our second stay and again could not fault anything, the onsite bar was absolutaly fabulous the staff were friendy and approachable the food was 5* and very well priced, we will be returning without a doubt and recommend this cabin for a great stay in the lakes for comfort space and well equiped. A 5***** holiday accommodation in my book and perfectly priced.

PERFECT LODGE IN A PERFECT POSITION

We stayed for 4 nights at Easter and had a fabulous time, we wished we had stayed for longer, in fact we enjoyed it so much a week after returning home we had booked again for August.
The lodge is comfortable, clean and spacious, with everything you could possibly need.
We ate at the Haybarn pub/restaurant situated on site most nights, the food is great and the staff very friendly
The enclosed dog walking area is a nice touch, plenty of space for our dog to run around.
There are fantastic views all around and loads of walks, even for us beginners.
We visited Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside, all of which were only a few minutes drive away.
Can't wait to return.

Troutbeck is a perfect base to explore the hills, towns and villages of the lake district. If you are a hill walker you can access the Kentmere round directly from the park. A short drive up the valley takes you to the Kirkstone Pass and a scenic drive down into Ullswater. Windermere is 2 miles downhill giving you access to Bowness, Ambleside and Grasmere all in very close proximity. Coniston is only a short distance away via a delightful little car ferry acoss Lake Windermere.
