Anna Maria Island Overview:
Anna Maria Island is all about sunshine, sea, relaxing (if you want), and any kind of outdoor activity. Water sports of all kinds are available, and the Gulf of Mexico is nearly always warm enough for swimming. Seven miles of pristine, most empty, beaches, great for collecting shells and sand dollars. Dolphin sightings frequent, occasional sightings of Manatee (Area is in Manatee County).
Golf:
More than twenty five golf courses within a forty minute drive of the island. We can give plenty of info about the courses in the area, and can assist with the purchase of great discount books.
The Mainland:
Anna Maria has so far resisted any attempts by the large fast-food firms to open outlets on the island, thank goodness. However, two bridges connect the island to Bradenton/Sarasota where you will find all the usual American Razzmatazz! Cinemas, bowling alleys, large shopping malls, small shopping courts, you name it, you'll eventually find it!
Other Activities:
Boat Hire. Disneyworld two hour drive. Busch Gardens one hour drive
