BEACHFRONT ESTATE - 5BR/6BA WITH PRIVATE POOL & BAR ON 2 ACRES

Playa Grande Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa, 5 Bedrooms, 7 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

Casa Muy Grande is a luxurious beachfront estate that once served as a small boutique hotel. The property is now privately owned and available as a weekly rental. This gorgeous villa offers all the amenities of a hotel with the serenity and seclusion of a private residence.

Casa Muy Grande boasts five large bedrooms, each with an adjacent bathroom, air conditioning, small refrigerator and featherweight down comforters. The four first-floor bedrooms each have their own plasma television. Each bedroom has its own private entrance, except the master bedroom, which is located on the second floor and features beautiful views from its private balcony. Among Casa Muy Grande's many amenities is a private pool, hot tub, large tiki bar, and a fun-ball court.

The property is located directly on Playa Grande beach which is well known for its world class surfing and pristine, untouched coast-line. Of course, surfboards and boogie boards are available for your use during your stay.

The Costa Rican government has declared Playa Grande part of a national park (called Parque Marino las Baulas), placing restrictions on development in the area so all forms of wildlife are thriving along the beach and at Casa Muy Grande. Visitors are often awakened to the sound of monkeys swinging in the trees of this 2-acre private property. From late September until March, leatherback turtles swim to shore directly in front of the estate to nest and lay their eggs.

Come live the Costa Rican lifestyle to the fullest! Pura Vida!

Fantastic 50th Birthday Celebration

We just returned from 2 incredible weeks at Casa Muy Grande. We had two different groups of friends join my husband and I to celebrate his 50th. The layout of the house made this a perfect setup for each week of friends. We loved having Karina cook for us and also had Derek Furlani - a chef with catering service from Tamarindo in twice too. Simply perfect. Surf lessons on the beach directly in front of the house, baby turtles heading to the ocean at dawn, great staff, and the wonderful pool to retreat to in between. Couldn't have been better!

Beautiful house on a pristine beach

Our family of 5 just loved this house. It was beautiful and clean, inside and out. The couple who live on the property are lovely and do a great job taking care of everything. We met other people who rented houses in the area and they had trouble with mold in air conditioning units, tarantulas crawling around etc which emphasized to us how important it is to rent a well cared-for house.

The house is essentially 5 separate bedroom units with their own locks (like 5 motel rooms). We found handling all the keys a bit of a pain. The 4 bedrooms on the main floor are not actually inside the main house so we had to check/lock a lot of doors coming and going. Our children are older so it wasn't such a big deal having them "locked" in their own rooms each night but I'm not sure how people with young children would do it. You'd have to have an adult in each room.

Security on the property was great. According to other people who have rented for years in the community, break-ins are rare now that the beach community has regular security in place. We felt very safe in this peaceful community.

As other people have commented, there are great restaurants in the area, a nice little grocery store and a fantastic surf shop (Frijolos Locos) that teaches out front - just go to their office and arrange surf lessons. The waves were great for beginners. Yes there is an undertow but you can go in far enough for a nice dip. The sand is golden and fine - easy on the feet. The beach has no tree cover so it was really nice to have a house right on the beach - you could just go back to the shade on the property.

We were there during the dry season. There was not a mosquito in sight. We spent evenings lying out back looking at the stars.

Tamarindo is a much busier beach and it is not nearly as nice a beach as Playa Grande - lots of boats, areas with rocks in the water, garbage in the trees (not one scrap of garbage on Playa Grande). We went to Tamarindo twice but our teenagers loved the peace and activities on Grande.

Amazing Getaway!

This beautiful house was the perfect getaway. Steps away from the beach made sun bathing and surfing effortless. The private accommodations and helpful staff on the property were remarkable. It was the most relaxing vacation I've ever been on! Additionally, the proximity to Tamarindo was great because its close to all the fun restaurants and nightlife, however, it's far enough away so that you can enjoy the quiet/tranquil atmosphere of Playa Grande. There are also many great restaurants walking distance from the house. Bula Bula and Cantarana....just to name a few. Everyday we watched the sun set overe the ocean and woke up the next morning to the sound of the waves crashing. Just Perfect!!

AMAZING beachfront palace!

I was at Casa Muy Grande a few weeks ago with a group of friends. It was, simply put, one of the best weeks of my life. The natural, scenic beauty of Playa Grande is unparalleled. The surrounding area is far enough removed from the more touristy area of Tamarindo to give a really authentic, Central American adventure experience. But the locale also has all the amenities you want for first rate travel - excellent restaurants (I particularly recommend Cantarana, right across the street from CMG), spa/fitness services (massage, yoga, etc.), and a few fun and colorful bars. The surf on the Nicoya peninsula is world famous and, living up to it's reputation, we got some great surf session while we were down there. The staff at CMG (Jose and Carolina) are amazing, so friendly and they keep the house running like a 5 star hotel. I definitely plan on returning to Costa Rica in the future and will be booking my stay at the awesome CASA MUY GRANDE!

Amazing time. Can not wait to go back!

I just finished my first stay at Casa Muy Grande and I am already counting the days until I can go back! The house is incredible from the rotunda driveway with HUGE Palms, to a full on tiki bar with fun ball court and foosball table. The grounds keeper and his wife were pleasant, attentive and engaging despite our language barrier. From cooking amazing seafood dinners for our party, to shinning bright spotlights in the dark to guide us to the local bar, they were phenomenal! The house itself is incredible with full AC, pool, and plenty of space for everyone (we were a group of 10 guys). What's more is that the beach is picture perfect and never crowded. We surfed during the day and played beach soccer at dusk as the sunset! Pura Vita!

If you are looking for a vacation rental, Casa Muy Grande is the spot to be hands down.
