Great holiday

What a great welcome as we arrived at the house - uninterrupted views down to the sea, the islands of Battowia & Balliceaux beyond and a profusion of colour in the garden. The house with its unusual and charming octagonal shape, swimming pool, decking, huge veranda and spacious lounge/diner provided everything that we needed for a most enjoyable stay. We found ourselves quite spoilt for choice about where exactly to relax – sitting in the cool of the lounge or out on the veranda, swinging gently in the hammock, taking a refreshing dip in the pool or lounging on the decking. Or even foraging in the garden for fresh fruit – pawpaws with a squeeze of lime were our favourite.
This was our first holiday on Bequia and we were immediately struck by the friendliness of all the people. We were able to swim, snorkel, eat and drink all manner of different fish and tropical fruit and drink rum punch as the sun went down. The supermarket and fruit & veg stalls in Port Elizabeth were able to supply all manner of exciting produce, as well as more familiar imported items. When eating out, we particularly enjoyed the lunchtime roti at The Green Boley and an evening meal at Fernandos. Princess Margaret (Tony Gibbons) Beach with its soft white sand and calm water was excellent for swimming.
What a lovely holiday.
Owner's Response: I'm really glad you liked it, and thank you for such a lovely review! My sister built the house a few years ago, and I vividly remember sitting among the cedar trees feeling the cool breeze, gazing out at the uninhabited islands and dreaming of a wonderful house in that spot. Dad put in the pool deck last year, and I haven't even stretched out on it myself yet - I'm overdue a visit and this is making me determined to book the tickets! It's great that the fruit trees are bearing well, too - they are a real long-term investment of effort!
Hope you can come back soon,
Ralph
