Perfect for a large group - great beach vacation

My family and I just returned from a week’s stay at Sanibel . We were there to celebrate my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, and this house could not have been any more perfect for us. My brother and two sisters - plus their families - all were there as well, so we had 12 people total in our party. There was plenty of space for everyone; we never felt crowded or like we were on top of each other. We even managed to squeeze everyone in at the dinner table a few times by pulling up some extra chairs. The kitchen is large and there is lots of room for multiple people to work there at the same time, plus it is well stocked with utensils, pots/pans, etc.
The VRBO page says that it is steps to the pool and beach – that is completely true. The pool is two houses down from Sanibel – super easy to get to and never crowded, even during the 4th of July week (it helps that there are only about 10-12 houses total in the gated community). The beach access is about four-five houses away, total of about 100 yards or so. Four beach chairs and two umbrellas were set up every day for us (marked with the name of the house), so it was easy to go down and enjoy the beach.
The master bedroom is enormous (takes up the entire third floor). The bathroom there is huge with a walk in closet and separate tub and shower. The pull out couch was very convenient, and there is space on the floor for an air mattress if you needed to use it. Actually, the walk in closet is large enough that you could put an air mattress there too!
The location was very convenient – Goatfeathers seafood shop is a few blocks away, a gas station is about a ¼ mile away, and we were able to ride bikes to Seaside very easily (two miles away). You are close enough to Seaside to go shop and eat when you like, but far enough away that there aren’t traffic headaches every time you leave. There is also a sweet shop/ice cream shop about a ¼ mile away that we all enjoyed.
I have to really search for something we didn’t like about this house. I guess my only complaint would be that the wifi reception/connectivity was spotty (it’s an open wifi connection; maybe consider locking it down with a password for only house guest use). Also, we would appreciate hand soap dispensers in the bathroom and kitchen (bar soap was available). Be sure to bring some extra TP for a long stay!
Overall, we really enjoyed this house and would recommend it to anyone.
