Nerja Golf Vacation Rental apartment: Nerja

my wife anne i stayed here for a week in january. the weather was mixed but we had 4 days of sunshine when we could sit out in the beautiful patio area by the pool with views of the mountains surrounding nerja.
its a 10 minutes steep downhill walk to burriana beach and a further 5 minutes to the old town of nerja with its narrow streets of white washed buildings leading to the balcon de europa an amazing square jutting out to the sea with magnificent views. The flat is well equipped and the owners agent chris was there to meet us and was very helpful and on call
a large supermarket is within walking distance.
we liked the diversity of the area in addition to sandy beaches, there were pretty hill top villages and the cities of malaga (45mns drive) and granada (90 mns drive) are well worth exploring and the alhambra at granada must rank as one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.
on the negative side apart from nerja we found the nearby resorts over developed and the graffiti everywhere is awful.with the economic slump there are also loads of construction sites abandoned and they also are an eyesore The coastal area also resembles a brighton by the sea with most of the cafes catering to what they believe the brits want ie chips with everything prices for food are high and service shoddy. We eat in the flat most days and found a bar in maro two miles away were we were the only brits and watched the sun set from it most evenings drinking local (cheap) gin and tonic
