There is plenty to see and do in the Hout Bay village and superb roads will lead you out to the world famous landmarks and sites around Cape Town. The weather here is generally good and fairly temperate but we do get some breezy days too when the wind comes in off the sea ! This may be a good day to go out on one of the regular boat trips to Seal Island which leaves from Hout Bay harbor along with many other boats offering fishing or viewing. Afterwards have lunch in one of our many harbor side restaurants with delicious fish.

But plan to come here - it's a fantastic holiday destination !
I am born in the UK but have been in South Africa - Cape Town in particular - for many years (and love it here !). I used to go to school in Hampton, Mx., and then moved to the South Coast for quite a while before coming further south to Africa, Cape Town, and more especially to beautiful Hout Bay. I love travel and part of the pleasure in the guest holiday business is meeting the fantastic people who come here from all over the world. Why don't you come over here too and see what it's all about ?
Guests are always delighted with this holiday home - there are gasps of amazement when they find it looks even better than the photos on the website ! They find it convenient, comfortable and appreciate the service we always try to give them. We are sure you will love it too.
The benefits to our guests are numerous - this is a really spacious, light and airy home and it's close proximity to the village and also the major sightseeing aspects of the Cape is of great benefit. It is a good jumping off point for trips to Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront via spectacular Camps Bay and Clifton, to the winelands in the other direction, and again over the world famous Chapman's Peak round to Cape Point and Simonstown on the Indian Ocean side of the Peninsula.
This is a great house in a fantastic location, just 10 minutes walk from the sea front and accessible to Cape Town within 20 minutes. The house itself is very spaciaous and well equipped with wonderful views over the mountains from the balcony and a perfect place to sit out in the evenings. We arrived to fresh flowers and wine courtesy of Ann, and she was always on hand to source babysitters, drivers and even the eashing machine repair man! We would certainly recommend this house.
We arrived in the middle of the night and Feyona was waiting for us and showed uw the house. There was a bottle of wine and nice flowers ofcourse the protea of South Africa. We had a very good time in Harmony House. Close to the shops and the beach and also walking distance form the very good fish restaurant "Mariners Warf".
The house was clean and modern furnished. Also the contact with Graham and Esme was very good and adequad.
We had a very pleasent stay and we will recommend it to every one who would like to stay in Houtbay.
After a perfect contact to the owner of the house at the internet, we met a very nice and helpful Fiona at Harmony House in Hout Bay in january 2010. We had a very pleasant time at the house. It was clean and the location was perfect with the supermarket 5 minutes away and a very nice seafood restaurant placed on the beach. We met our daughter, who is working as a volunteer in the township of Lavender Hill. Together with her, we had a beautiful trip to Simons Town, Boulders Beach, Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope and at last driving back to Hout Bay along Chapman's Peak. Table Mountain was magnificent. Waterfront in Cape Town is worth visiting. Another wonderful experience was the Fairy Glen Safari.
The alarm at Harmony House gave a little problem, but the staff of ADT were very helpful and understanding.
Thank you for at very wonderful time in Harmony House and surroundings.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harmony House. A lovely welcome from Fiona, with flowers and a bottle of wine. She was most helpful throughout our visit. Excellent accommodation, although bedrooms very hot during our visit. Ceiling fans may help! We will certainly book the house again when we next visit the Cape.
Margaret & Alan
Superb family house, clean spacious and secure.
Lovely welcome from Fiona with wine, flowers and essentials.
The pool was lovely and clean great for a dip on hot days, the boys enjoyed the table tennis - we never knew how addictive table tennis could be!
We had a great family holiday over Christmas and New Year,
Spending xmas day with penguins and New Years day with sharks was a fantastic memorable experience,
Harmony house's location meant we were minutes away from Hout Bay shops, and a short drive to Cape Town, Simons Town and Cape Point.
The lookout deck was a good place to eat as was the Pirates bar around the corner, the the Thai place was also excellent.
We would highly recommend and hope to return.
Russell and family
