Enjoy the picturesque scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains from the deck of this quaint chalet. The area is perfect for someone wanting a quiet, stress-free getaway. The cabin is located close to many attractions, but far enough away to offer privacy.
There are three levels which include a loft and a full kitchen. The cabin has heartwood pine on the walls and ceilings, and is decorated with a lodge theme in mind.
VERY Easy to get to yet still secluded!

My original comment from November 2007 read: We loved your chalet and plan to return again next year. It was very comfortable, private and had everything we needed. We spent most of our evenings outside by the fire. What more can you ask for...It was great!
We have been back every year since then. We had reserved the chalet April, 2011 and a week before we were to arrive I received an phone call from the Dane informing us there was some unexpected damage to the chalet and we could not stay there. In the case like this, I thought we would have to make other arrangements ourselves. To my surprise, Dane offered to find another place nearby. He found a place, contacted me the next day, and our vacation was back on schedule. We plan to go back to Dane's chalet in October. It is comfortable, private, easy to find...the perfect place to vacation.
The cabin was fantastic! So clean that one could eat off the hardwood floor! It is great for familes with kids or as an escape from the kids! The cabin is nestled in the woods with other houses and cabins but it is so isolated that you don't notice them. As soon as we have the dates for our annual car meet next year, we are planning to book this place for the week if available!
I hesitated to review this property because my experience was not a positive one. After much contemplation, I decided to write one. The previous visitors left glowing reviews and that left me expecting so much more than I found. While the price is very affordable and the owners are very pleasant, there were some issues that reduced the rating that I am giving. The upstairs main level of the cabin was acceptable and I would rate it "average," but the downstairs bedroom where we stayed was not. The ceiling in the downstairs shower has a board that is about to fall and was a concern everytime I showered. The bed was horrible, but once I pulled off the plastic mattress cover and padded it with a quilt, I was able to get some rest. The bedroom was also damp & musty, though understandable since it is built into the hill. There was a dehumidifieer running, but the filter was filthy so I turned it off. The multiple containers of "Damp Rid" probably needed to be replaced. There is a safety concern if entering from the door under the front deck. The retaining wall is falling, so be aware of this. If you are in a low riding sports car, be sure and park in the cul de sac and do not pull up the drive, as you may drag on the back side of the drive when exiting. A regular car will do fine. If coming in from Robbinsville, note where the public dumpsters are, because you will be requested to pack your household garbage out when you leave. I think that most of the issues with this little cabin is primarily maintenance related and can be remedied easily.
We had a nice stay. Cabin was quiet, clean, and had comfortable beds. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is it needs comfortable deck chairs.
We stayed in this little cottage in early October and it was really great! The cabin was clean, well furnished and super cozy! Especially cozy after a long day of riding. We trailered the motorcycle to the cabin and there was room at the end of the driveway to leave the trailer and park the bike up near the cabin. A few notes... This cabin is in-the-nature! There are some neighbors but you're basically in the woods. At night it's quiet and pitch black! It was a little further out than I expected but still not bad. Only about 20 min from Robbinsville. There is no cell phone reception whatsoever. We just waited til we got to town to do any internet stuff. We just used the cabin phone to make calls while we were there. The road leading up to the cabin and the surrounding houses are gravel but well maintained. No trouble on the bike at all. It was reasonably close to Deal's Gap and the Cherohala Skyway which is the main reason we picked it.
Overall our stay was wonderful and would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone traveling to the area and plan to return next year.
