This place is known as the hexagon house and has quite a history. It is older but it's lots of fun and has everything you need for a great stay. You can't ask for a nicer area. It's a gated community with friendly neighbors. You are within a mile of two incredible snorkeling sites, the tide pools and the Champagne Pond: Volcanically-heated water, sea turtles, crystal clear water, beautiful fish, colorful coral - WOW!. A few more miles west down the coast is the public hot pond, a very large volcanically-heated swimming area. Then keep on going west along the coast and you see beautiful rain forests with tree-covered roads, black sand beaches, ending at a recent lava flow from Kilauea (there's a great place to grab a burger there too). The little town of Kapoho is about 7 miles away where you find great restaurants, with fine dining for a very reasonable price. We loved Kaleo's (American), Paulo's Bistro (Italian - our favorite, incredible food and delightful personal service!), and Ning's (Thai). Here you can really relax, get away and have a wonderful Hawaiian experience that even some people living on the Big Island don't know exist. Last comment.
