Our renovated barn is in a very quiet part of the Dordogne and has two bedrooms (one double, one twin plus an occasional bed and/or two cots), looking onto the countryside. There is a bathroom with a shower and W.C. Downstairs there is an open plan living area and kitchen. Everything is supplied for your enjoyment including bicycles suitable for all ages. This is an excellent enviroment for children with games and toys and a fully enclosed pool which is a level 1.20 metre deep . Parking for cars is in an enclosed courtyard. Lol Bas is set in the hills in a very tranquil and picturesque corner of the Dordogne close to the bastide town of Domme 9km and the River Dordogne 7km . The medieval towns of Sarlat and Gourdon are both 16km away. The closest villages with restaurants and shops are Daglan and St.Martial-de-Nabirat both 3km away. There is a multitude of medieval chateaux, scenic villages and prehistoric sites nearby for which this area is famous. Les Eyzies and the caves of Lascaux are 35 km distance. Along with the River Dordogne there are nearby lakes for fishing ( in which are found carp, sturgeon, trout etc.) or you can fish the River Ceou although a licence is required costing around 16€ (also with its carp and trout). Golf, canoeing, horse riding, hot air ballooning, and a variety of other activities are found here. In the nearby villages are some outstanding restaurants along with artisan crafts, arts and pottery.

  • Our change over days are Saturdays unless by prior arrangement.

    Our prices include all bed linen, hand and bath towels, heating, gas, electricity but NOT extended use of telephone or internet access. A meal or supplies can be provided for your arrival.

    If you are arriving later in the evening then we are happy to shop on your behalf for some basic groceries, but please give us 7 days notice. A 150€ damage deposit is required which will be fully refunded within seven days of your departure unless the accomodation or it's contents are damaged or left in a condition that necessitates extra cleaning time to return them to the high standard in which they are presented.

In the nearby villages are some truly outstanding restaurants along with artisan crafts such as art and pottery. Markets are held most days and during July and August many fetes take place which usually end with magnificent firework displays.
