Great time in Balgarevo

As three couples we went to this villa looking for a quiet, rural taste of Bulgaria for our primary visit to the country. Could not be more satisfied.
The location was as expected, in a farming community away from the usual onset of hording holiday makers. You could tell that the locals were new to foreign visitors, mainly because they were friendly! Not like the usual Spanish welcome i've previously endured, "Tip please, what would you like to order?"
The villa is very spacious and well equipped, but we spent most of our time in the grounds. The pool was perfect for cooling off in and had an excellent BBQ area where we ate most days. There is a large grassy area around the villa too, which was a bonus.
It's only a few minutes walk to the local restaurants, which were excellent. Friendly people and GREAT local food, very cheep too. You get to know the owners quickly and they really look after you (watch out for the Rakia, can be deadly).
We took various busses and discoverd lovely local beaches and great local markets, but would advise a car as it is a rural location.
One day we went to the main tourist area on the bus and realised we had made the right choice with the rural villa! Everything was trebble the price and the Bulgaria we had grown to Love was gone, stick to the countryside my friends, it's gorgeous!
Price wise, the beer was about 50p and a three course meal with wine and beer for the 6 of us was less than i'd pay for 1 in the UK!
So overall, well worth a visit, or two! (I'm going back this summer)...:)
