The centre of Portiragnes village is a 10 minute walk. In the village you will find 3 bakeries, 2 bars, butchers, flower shop, post office, 2 hairdressers, tourist office, small supermarket, newsagent and 3 wine cooperatives.There are 2 restaurants and several pizza takeaways. There are also tennis courts available by the hour and a boulodrome to play petang. The Canal du Midi goes to Beziers in one direction and Agde in the other. Boats and cycles are available to hire locally. Cycle to Beziers along the towpath over the aqueduct and along to the 9 locks. On the way to Portiragnes Plage there are riding stables where horses and ponies can be hired.
There are beautiful beaches all along the coast. The beautiful beach at Portiragnes Plage is only 2km away. Here there are numerous good restaurants and bars. Most watersports are available on the beach. Vias is a busy resort with cafes and bars and Europark funfair.
