Jasmine villa

We returned yesterday from one of the best holidays that we, as a family, have ever enjoyed. This was largely due to the nature of the accommodation.

There is a lovely big pool, which suited our needs entirely. In the spacious grounds there are three villas with easy access to the pool. There are more than ample sun beds to lie on which are on luxuriant grass. I have rarely seen such good grass or gardens in the Mediterranean. I had several "life doesn't get any better than this" moments whilst lying on a lilo in the pool enjoying the surroundings and watching a pair of hoopoes (very pretty birds), which come down to eat the insects in the lawn.

Jasmine villa had everything that we could have wanted to meet our everyday needs. Air conditioning is great and it enabled us to have sound and untroubled sleep. We spent little time in the villa itself, as the terrace was so delightful with a lovely view during the day and in the evening. The other two villas looked just as nice. The parking was good with a small but ample car park less than a minute's walk from the villas.

We did not feel inclined to go out too much because the villa, gardens and pool were so enjoyable but there is plenty to do within easy driving distance. Chania is about fifteen minutes away in the car and there is relatively good and free parking. Chania is beautiful, has a wealth of history and oodles of unique shops, bars and restaurants. We found the leatherwork particularly attractive and at reasonable prices. Be prepared to haggle. It can be fun and financially rewarding. Freddie and Lisa, who live in the house by the car park, have a terrific high-speed boat, which they take out from a nearby harbour and conduct a trip around Theodori Island. We found the hour long (actually 1 hr 15 mins) trip with snorkelling to be excellent value at 15 euros each. Details on this and other activities can be found in the villas.

I cannot end without a few words about the owners, Ian and Jeanie, who were the perfect hosts. We have sometimes found it difficult when the owners live close by but this was not the case with this couple who were accessible when needed but not in any way intrusive. Thank you both for enabling us to have such a wonderful holiday.

When we came back to pick up our luggage the sunday afternoon(it was our last day) we didn't find you and a lady told me that you had an accident. We are worried and hope that it was not too serious and that you are ok.
