The secluded setting of this4 star ITBA (Irish Tourist Board Approved) cottage, set in an orchard in the hills above Kilorglin, belies it's convenient location, only a short walk from the town. Furnished with cottage antiques and with wonderful views over unspoiled countryside to the majestic McGillycuddy Reeks , it is an ideal base for exploring Co. Kerry.

An idyllic position down a country lane - ideal for walking yet only a mile from the bustling town of Killorglin noted for its Puck Fair festival, pub restaurants and traditional music bars. It is conveniently located for touring the Dingle Peninsula and Ring of Kerry with Killarney town 10 miles. Savour the view to the highest mountain in Ireland the MacGillycuddy Reeks. Sea river and lake fishing is on your doorstep with Lough Caragh and the river Laune nearby. There are 3 beautiful beaches Rossbeigh, Cromane and Dooks.

The town of Killorglin is situated in the heart of Kerry, along the Laune River. This lively town located on a hill is best known for one of Ireland's oldest, longest and probably most unusual celebrated festivals - Puck Fair. The fair is held without fail on 10th, 11th and 12th August every year with 12 hours of free family street entertainment. The fair honours an event during Cromwellian Ireland when a stampede of wild goats ran through the town warning the residents of the approach of Cromwell's Army. To celebrate this event a goat is captured and enthroned on a pedestal. The town really celebrates this historical event in style with a number of other events held in the town as well as the capturing of the goat. These additional events include ' The Guinness Busking Competition', Open air concerts and displays of dancing.

Killorglin is still a peaceful setting for a holiday as the area has many quiet roads and wonderful walks to enjoy.

We had a delightful stay at Rose Cottage in July 2010. Everything we needed washing machine, drier, dishwasher central heating etc. Very convenient location for \killorglin town.
We were met and welcomed by the owner in the town and taken to the cottage in its lovely quite peacefull grounds.
Good value for money....we hope to stay again sometime
