Argenton-sur-Creuse Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom detached private mill, sleeps 4

The Mill at Moulin Drap is a newly renovated stone watermill featuring the original millstone in the lounge area. It is in a beautiful, private setting beside the river and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences. There is a private Patio area with a Gas Barbeque and is a sun trap in the afternoons with shade from the trees that line the riverbank.

The Mill would suit a family of four or two couples.

There are two properties on the site but they are approx 200 metres apart so each retains wonderful privacy.

The Mill is a two bedroom Gite that sleeps four people. The downstairs is a large open plan area comprising a kitchen/diner and lounge. There is also a shower room and WC. The lounge area is spacious and comfortable. Equipped with a stereo and a selection of CD's it also has an MP3 player port so you can plug in your own music (ipod etc). There is satelite TV that plays most UK freeview channels. The lounge also has a wood burning stove and the original mill stone, with stairs leading up to the first floor.

The first floor has two bedrooms and a WC. Bedroom one has a queen size (200x160cm) bed and bedroom two has two singles. The Mill is adjacent to the river with access to the island created by the millstream. There are French doors from the lounge to the outside with a very private patio area that overlooks the river and old paddock. There is a gas BBQ, parasol, table and chairs for al fresco dining.

The Mill and the other property, the Miller's House, are ideal if you want to share your holiday with family and friends - take the two houses together to provide accommodation for up to 12 people in un-crowded, private and spacious surroundings.

We tried hard to create a comfortable haven in the peace of the countryside. It was important to us to allow others to soak up the tranquility of this lovely area.

Rural Retreat

  • 4 of 5
We were delighted to have chosen this property for a relaxing week in the countryside to recharge our batteries.
The cottage has been beautifully restored whilst preserving its style and presenting all those modern conveniences that we can't live without. The setting is idyllic with the river running past and plenty of space to relax along its bank and no traffic to intrude. Although delightfully rural, the nearest village is surprisingly lively and can be reached in a couple of minutes by car.
We would happily return.
