Villa Lefktron lies in its own 950 sq m of landscaped grounds enclosed by a stone wall. It is oriented to take advantage of the magnificent Taygetos mountains, the olive groves, the bay of Stoupa, and the refreshing sea breezes. The villa has two storeys, the ground floor having a large living room with a cathedral ceiling and stairs leading up to a mezzanine. Leading off from the mezzanine are two bedrooms, each with their own balcony. The first is overlooking the mountains, and the other overlooks the olive groves and the sea. The living room has two large French doors facing the sea. There is a wood burning stove with glass doors to enjoy a fire on off season nights. Separated by a semi-open archway, is the fully-equipped kitchen. A patio leading off from the kitchen is ideal for alfresco meals. There is a full-size bathroom on the ground floor. There is a 24 hour medical center 2 km away. Special Note: For sailors, a sun fish is available for use.

Lefktron village is located on the foothills above Stoupa. It overlooks the olive groves and the sea. It offers very beautiful views, especially of the evening sunsets. Until the 1970s, it was mostly an abandoned village. Then, the first visitors came and fell in love with the area. They bought most of the houses and restored them to a high standard. The Greek owners soon followed suit. The newer houses that were built afterward followed the traditional Mani style as well. Today, Lefktron is a very picturesque village with a mixture of owners and visitors from all over the world.

  • For bookings of 2 or more weeks made between now and March 31, 2009, we are prepared to offer a 15% reduction off the total cost. After April 1, we will offer a 10% reduction for any booking over 2 weeks.

  • There are 2 bedrooms and an alcove on the mezzanine that sleep up to 5 guests. Bedroom 1- one queen sized bed, has own balcony with views to the mountains Bedroom 2- 2 twin beds, has own balcony with mountain views as well as coastline to the south Alcove- one bed, has own dresser, night table, and a small window for fresh air The bedrooms have very high ceilings that keep with fans that make them naturally cooler. Also, the house has been situated to take advantage of the regular breezes from the sea. Each bed has its own mosquito net, and plug ins are available as well. All the furnishings were custom designed and built by local craftsmen. The mezzanine is about 12 sq. meters. In addition to the alcove, it has a sitting area that overlooks the living room.

Notes: Lefktron Villa was custom designed and built combining the traditional Mani style with an interior that offers the best quality of workmanship. It is tastefelly furnished and gives one the feeling of home. The walls are of 50cm double faced stone. In the living room, they have been left natural so as to capture the warm tones of the stone, especially as the sun sets in the evening. A very special feature of this house is it's high cathedral ceiling (18ft.). It lends a feeling of openness to the whole house, as well as providing good air circulation on hot summer days. Outside, there are 2 patios. One is off the kitchen which provides a private area for alfresco dining. The larger patio is accessed through the tall french doors and provides an unobstructed view of the olive groves and sea below. The garden area contains mature olive trees as well as a good varity of fruit trees. Inside the gate area, there is ample space for parking.

STOUPA VILLAGE: The three beaches of Stoupa are all very close to Villa Lefktron. Two of the beaches have very fine sand. The third beach, Halikoura, has small pebbles and is an ideal place for snorkeling. All three are child friendly because of the shallow waters near the shore. Umbrellas and sunbeds are available for rental at daily or weekly rates. There are some cafes just off the beaches that offer cold drinks and light meals for lunch. Kayaks and pedaloes can be rented from either Stoupa or Kalogria beach. Small motor boats are also available for rental on Stoupa beach. Because Stoupa is a small village, everything is within an easy walk. In addition to the cafes, you will find numerous restaurants, fine gift shops, a rental shop where you can rent anything from fans to bicycles, and a pharmacy. For more adventurous souls, cars, motor scooters, and 'buggys' can also be rented in town.

EXCURSIONS: Stoupa is in the middle of a very beautiful area. Along the coast, there are several other charming villages to visit, (Kardimili, Agios Nikolaos, Agios Dimitrios, and Trachila). Each is unique and all are well worth a visit. There is a paved path along the coastline between Stoupa and Agios Nikolaos. It is specifically for either pedestrian or bicycle use, and is about 2 km in length. It offers wonderful sea views with a mountain background. In a distance from 4-18 km. from Stoupa, there are lovely mountain villages to explore that take you back in time to 50 years ago. Most of them have a small taverna or two where you can stop and enjoy dishes prepared with local products. There are two separate loops that can be driven. Each of them passes through several villages and you can take anywhere from one hour to all day to complete your journey.

Den Mai mit seiner Vielfalt an Pflanzen, Düften, Früchten, den Übergang vom Frühling in den Sommer immer in Blickkontakt mit dem Meer und den Bergen zu erleben, war für uns eine erholsame, reiche Zeit. Das stilvolle Haus Lefktron mit seinen wunderbaren Sitzplätzen unter Olivenbäumen, der geschmackvollen Einrichtung und über das Notwendige hinaus sehr guten Ausstattung, der Sinn für stimmungsvolle Details und die freundschaftliche Unterstützung der Besitzer, ihr Zuhause, ihr Land und ihre Kultur erforschen und lieben zu lernen, sind eine Bereicherung für jeden, der die Ruhe sucht, gerne wandert, sowie das Meer liebt und den Blick auf die Kostbarkeiten der Region und ihrer Geschichte vertiefen möchte. My wife and I have stayed in the Lefkton House numerous times; September, October, May and July of different years, and love the house and location. It offers all we need a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of the beach front. The view is outstanding and privacy priceless. It is a joy to hear birds in the morning! The walk to the beach is a pleasure with the feeling of being in olive groves and living in another time. There is always much to see and do in Stoupa and vicinity

The house itself was very comfortable and airy. The kitchen and bathroom were well equipped and the washer and dryer a wonderful addition. The major problem we had was with the mosquitoes - so many that no pest control device, chemical or netting seemed to work. I stopped county bites after 100. I would also add that the house is a bit farther than 10 minutes from Stoupa beach but during a vacation, who wears a watch anyway?
