The property is located centrally in the highland village of Lochaline, part of the Morvern peninsula. It is about 40 miles or 65 kms from the large town of Fort William. The village itself sits at the mouth of the sea loch of the same name and overlooks the Sound of Mull. It has its own shop/post office, a snack bar, a social club, a hotel and a very good seafood restaurant. There are many outdoor sporting activities available in the area eg hill-walking and fishing but perhaps the most prominent facility in Lochaline is a very active dive school. Both in Morvern itself and a short ferry ride away, on the island of Mull, you can find probably the best variety of wildlife available anywhere in the UK. Of course it is not just a place for activity, it is also absolutely ideal for relaxation - away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - enjoying the beautiful scenery, the beaches, the slow pace of life and perhaps, the occasional dram of whisky.

5 Stars for this Bungalow! We had a very nice Week

Review Submitted: October 15, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Hello there, we had a very nice Week in Lochaline. The Bungalow is very nice and clean and we don't miss anything. The Contact with Isbell is also very good and we had no problems with the conversation over mail. You can do lots of things in, and around Lochaline so this week was to short, next time we will stay longer ^_^
Greeting from Dresden Germany

Stunning!

Review Submitted: September 23, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Torr na Faire is a charming house in which we wanted for nothing. The house was spotless and attention to detail was much appreciated. The kitchen is well equiped, the living room comforable and cosy - I would love to return in Winter to get use out of the wood burner! - and there's a good selection of DVDs and books should the weather keep you indoors. The beds are very comfortable which, along with the glorious peace and quiet, ensure a great nights sleep and the piece de resistance, the conservatory with fantastic views over the sound to Mull. We were lucky enough to have the weather to eat outdoors on the decking.

The area of Loch Aline is stunning and varied. Driving through the hills of the Morvern Peninsulla with it's forests and lochs the atmosphere and scenery is incomparable and the coast is dotted with beautiful white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters.

We very much enjoyed our trip to the islands of Iona and Mull, both which are steeped in history. We took the guided tour of the monastory in Iona which was well worth while and a visit to Duart Castle on Mull is also a must. Tobermory is a charming town and we wished we had more time there - next time!

Our whole experience start to finish was a thoroughly positive one and dealing with the owner was a pleasure.

Being at Home in the Highlands

CelticFans Germany, Munich
Review Submitted: September 20, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We rented this lovely house for two weeks and enjoyed every single day of our stay. The house is wonderful - elegant, spacious, perfectly clean and very comfortable. We had the impression of being at home rather than just staying in a holiday house. We loved sitting in the conservatory or preparing our meal in the prefectly equipped kitchen. And as we indeed sometimes had a bit too much water from the sky and from the ground ;-) we were restored by coming home to the cosy, warm house, getting our dirty loundry clean and dry again with the help of the super washer/dryer and watching the rain from the conservatory.
The provided information was perfectly detailed and correct and we even got maps and guidebooks of the area. Lochaline is a beautiful little village with every thing you really need, even a modern little medical centre, but one needs to drive a lot for getting to see all the places worthwhile seeing. Its a great starting point for going to Mull (the ferry just starts under the conservatory window), in particular to Tobermory, Torosay Castle, Castle Duart, and further to Iona and Staffa. On the other hand, also Glencoe or Ben Nevis and Oban are within reach. Of course, the direct surroundings are particularly beautiful for hiking.
We would strongly recommend coming to Tornafaire and enjoying the Morvern countryside! Thanks again!

A Fantastic Vieuw

Ariaan The Netherlands
Review Submitted: August 24, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
During our holiday we stayed one week in August in this house. In the Netherlands we 're not used to the fact that the cottage was in such a perfect state. Everything looked so complete; It was great!
During this week we also enjoyed to sit in the conservatory; the vieuw was wonderful. One day we saw dolphins swimming and playing!
We went to the isle of Mull for three times; Tobermory is very nice to see; the surroundings of Mull are very beautiful ; and we walked near to Carsaig.
We made also a trip to the isle of Staffa and of Iona. The boattrip was great.
One day we went to Fort William and we also walked in the mountains near to Lochaline. The nature is wonderful.
When you choose this house for your holiday you have made a good choice. Everything you need is in there for a very good holiday.

Besuch in den West-Highlands

Mönche Dresden/Germany
Review Submitted: August 18, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
