2 Bedrooms, 1 bathroom, accommodation for 4 people.

The apartment is on the second (top) floor of a new block situated on the edge of the small village of Chirles in the mountains West of Benidorm which is 20min away by car. It is South-facing with lovely country and mountain views plus a distant sea-view. The village has a distinctly Spanish flavour and three good restaurants and a small super-market. Parking for 2 cars is available in the basement car-park. There is no lift. The area is ideal for people who want relaxation, peace and quiet.

Enjoy the peace and tranquility away from the madding crowd in this lovely apartment in the hills of Spain. Go walking or climbing in the mountains to your heart's content. Relax with a glass of cava on the South-facing balcony before strolling to one of the fine retaurants in the village for a menu del dia with wine for about €15.

If you want the beach or some night-life, take the 20-minute drive to Benidorm. Nature and theme parks are a 15-minute drive away.

About Jeff & Diana Thomas

We are a retired British couple living in Moraira which is about 40 minutes away by car from our apartment so we are easily accessible to resolve any problems that may arise.

The area of Chirles/Polop is very rural with wonderful mountain views and appealed to us as a get-away area to relax, go walking, etc. after the busier urban environment where we live.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment was bought off-plan after a friend introduced us to the area. The village has a unique Spanish character in the hills West of the coast yet only 20 mins by car from Benidorm, even closer to several theme parks to satisfy our children & grand-children. We were not disappointed by the quality of the construction and use the apartment ourselves for several weeks through the winter.

A super Christmas holiday with rock climbing

We booked this apartment for a week's rock climbing over Christmas. The apartment is in excellent condition and everything work. A welcome feature was the ingredients for breakfast – most welcome as the local shop opened late and being December there were no local cafes open in the village.

The sheltered balcony is a great place to sit out and enjoy the mountain views – as long as you wait till after 10am when the sun is getting warm. It is bigger than it looks on the photos. Indoors the heaters were a welcome bonus on the chilly evenings. We used the supermarket in La Nucia. We had a late lunch on Christmas day at the Moli de Xirles and it was excellent.

It is only a 5 minute drive to the varied climbing available at the Vall de Guardar (aka Echo Valley) which you can see from the apartment balcony. Xirles is also conveniently located for Crags at Guadalest, Toix, and Crag X, etc (see Rockfax guide).

I would recommend this apartment for anyone who wants an active outdoor holiday in the area during the winter months. It is also a very quiet place, which is perfect for a relaxing get-away.

Excellent apartment for a weeks rock climbing

This apartment provided us with an excellent base for a week's rock climbing in the costa blanca. Only 5 minutes drive to the varied climbing available at the Vall der Guardar which you can see from the apartment balcony. Apart from the local crags Xirles is also conveniently located to access a wide range of crags in the area. The apartment is in excellent condition and everything works, unlike the plumbing in a number of other villas I have rented in the past. It also feels very secure compared to some of the isolated villas I have rented so I was happy to leave my valuables in the apartment when we went out for the day. The sheltered balcony is a great place to sit out and enjoy the mountain views and is bigger than you would expect from the photos. In November the heaters were a welcome bonus on chilly evenings. We used the restaurants and supermarkets in La Nucia which are very convenient and have everything you need. The only downside was that all the bars and restaurants in the village were closed for the winter. I would recommend this apartment for anyone who wants an active outdoor holiday in the area during the winter months. The walking looks great but we spent the week rock climbing.

Excellent location; Comfortable apartment

We had a great stay in this apartment. It was very clean and well equiped. The owners are very friendly and always there to help. Everything went without problems.

The view is very good and there was almost no traffic. We had no problems with parking at all.

I would highly recommend this apartment and hope that we will be able to return there on our next visit to Costa Blanca.

Great getaway

I stayed here with my wife and 10 year-old, and we found the apartment to be clean, comfortable, and in a very good location. Not only is it a beautiful little village in the mountains, it's really close to the sea and waterparks.

For this price, I'd recommend it to anyone. In fact I already have been

The apartment is in the small village of Chirles (Xirles) about 1.5 km from Polop off the road to Guadalest. There are views of the Bernia and Monte Ponoch mountains and a distant view of the sea. The area is very rural and away from the bustle of Benidorm though it is accessible in 20 minutes. The hill-top towns of Polop and La Nucia have a distinctly Spanish flavour with regular fiestas and weekly markets.

It is also conveniently placed for the theme parks of Terra Mitica, MundoMar and Aqualandia which are about 15 mins away by car.

The South-facing apartment overlooks a valley of orange and lemon groves and a small farm.

Guadalest is about 20 minutes away by car and has a convent which is flood-lit at night and built on top of a cliff with lovely views of a lake and surrounding country.
