Lundy Cottage lies in the heart of the historic fishing village of Port Isaac. It is full of old world charm, with slate floors, beams and a log fire. Only 30 paces from the sea at high tide, you can lie in bed and listen to the waves and the fishermen bringing in the daily catch.
Lundy Cottage sleeps five people in two double and one single bedroom. Downstairs it has an open plan lounge/dining room with CD player, lots of books, children's toys and board games. Lundy Cottage has a fully equipped galley kitchen. It has one bathroom with a bath and power shower. Port Isaac has two pubs, several excellent restaurants and two teashops. There is a small supermarket, a bakery a deli, and a fishmongers so all your culinary needs are catered for.
Children can enjoy exploring the rock pools and caves on the beach. There is the local inshore lifeboat to visit, as well as a small aquarium with the largest lobster in the world! The stunning beaches of Polzeath for surfing, and Daymer Bay which is great for families are close by. Surfing lessons can be arranged at Polzeath, and the Extreme Academy at Watergate bay will keep teenagers (and the not so young!) busy.
We bought Lundy Cottage back in 2002, we visited Port Issac regularly and wanted a bolthole near the sea. When we saw Lundy Cottage for sale we made an offer which was accepted and set about renovating it at the weekends!
We really wanted to be close to the sea and loved the fact that you can see the harbour from Lundy Cottage and hear the seagulls and the waves.
Many villages in Cornwall have been altered by tourism, but Port Isaac retains its charm and unspoilt character. We believe that the cliff walks from the cogttage are some of the best in the UK, and the harbour, just a couple of minutes away is picture perfect!
Port Isaac is a very active local community. The local fisherman's choir - 'The Fisherman's Friends'' sing every Friday on the Platt, during the Summer months, and the St. Breward Brass Band play every Thursday. Lundy cottage is perfectly situated for exploring Cornwall. Tintagel, Boscastle and Bodmin moor are only a short distance away. If you are looking for an active holiday, the surfing beaches of Polzeath and Newquay are nearby, and the Eden project is only 40 mins away.
Parking for the cottage is available in the public car park, 5 minutes walk from the cottage.
