My family loves Alaska and all it has to offer. Hunting, fishing, and camping are some of the things our family enjoys. We got 'island fever' after living on Kodiak for almost 20 years and decided to make a change. We considered going back to the lower 48 to be closer to relatives, but the strong economy and beauty of Alaska kept us here.
Anchorage is the main hub for the entire state. After staying in hotels with our kids when we came to 'town' for shopping or business, we decided to buy our own place. Staying in a hotel just didn't work for us any more, and we knew other families would appreciate an alternative. We now live in Anchorage and enjoy all it has to offer on a daily basis. It is amazing that you can go to the theater and see a moose on the way home!
We lived at our property after moving to Anchorage and found the convenience to shopping, restaurants, the airport, and activities was really nice. We enjoyed the fireplace in the winter time and a long soak in the jacuzzi bath after a camping trip was a treat!
We actually saw a huge bull moose walking right down the middle of our street while we were eating dinner!
Our location is just perfect for day trips around Anchorage and attractions within the city. Must see's are The Native Cultural Center to learn about Alaska's indigenous peoples, The Anchorage Museum, The Alaska Zoo, Alaska Railroad Depot...I strongly suggest a train trip for breathtaking scenery and viewing wildlife, Hike Flat Top Mountain, Walk or bike The Coastal Trails, Potters Marsh for bird and wildlife viewing, Portage Glacier, Alyeska Ski Chalet in summer for tram rides to the top or world class skiing in winter, Crow Creek Mine in Girdwood for some fun panning for gold, and lets not forget The Double Musky Inn for a 5 star dinner in a log cabin! Dress casual and bring your appetite
