Our 200-year-old farmhouse is the ideal setting for your French gite holiday sleeping up to six people, it has been tastefully decorated and furnished whilst retaining its original features. The farmhouse offers 3 bedrooms, one double and two twin, all with co-ordinating soft furnishings and linen, which is included in the rental charge. We will be offering a discount for a two person booking in 2009.

Nearest Airport: Angers at 45 Kilometres
Chateaux of the Loire are world famous in history, stories and for their outstanding architecture. We are ideally placed for visits to Ussé – the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty, to Chinon – a fortress Chateau with links to Joan of Arc and at Fontevraud the Plantagenet tombs of Richard the Lionheart, Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine lie in the beautifully restored Abbey. Saumur, Montsoreau and Montreuil-Bellay are within easy distance and are pretty towns to explore. More local, is the fascinating troglodyte village of Rochmenier. The annual rose festival at Doué La Fontaine is held within the underground cave system. Troglo-dining can be experienced in local underground restaurants where you can try the regional specialty of mushrooms. If gardening is of interest to you will be amazed by the variety of styles to be experienced; Villandry with its immense potager and box parterres, Maulevrier – a Japanese inspired garden and Chemillé – displaying herbal and medicinal plants.

  • Prices include: all bed linen, towels and tea towels
    Gas for cooking and hot water, the first 20 units of electricity (then 25 cents per unit). Logs available at 5 euros per basket.

    Bookings normally run from Saturday to Saturday - but we can be flexible and accomodate mid-week bookings - please ask. Arrival is from 4pm and departure by 10am.

    We require a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure the booking and balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival.

In typically French style the living and dining area are one. The kitchen area is fully equipped including microwave, gas cooker, toaster and kettle. The large tufa stone fireplace, with wood burner is the focus of the sitting area with comfy sofa and chairs. There is a large rustic table with rattan chairs in the dining area. Adjacent to the living area is a shower room with washing machine and a separate toilet. Outdoor living during the summer months is superb here. Table, chairs and parasol are provided, and built in BBQ for al fresco dining, with wonderful views across the countryside. Perfect for relaxing and reading, bring your own novel or choose from the bookcase in the gite. Maybe listen to your favourite CD or play a board game from our selection. For the energetic table tennis is available in the big barn and there is a large choice of outdoor games available from boules to badminton. As lovers of good food and wine we will be very pleased to cook for you.

We can provide a meal on your arrival and can cook at any time throughout your stay, on request.
