The Torcal Natural Park and the more gentle hills below it greet you every morning from the terraces of Torcal Vista. It is just above the Campanillas River, where you can walk along the bank, watch the turtles and listen to the frog chorus. The cottage is a converted olive mill. It has beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and an original feel to it. It also has air-conditioning/heating in the bedrooms and central heating throughout. Visitors usually comment on how comfortable the beds are, but in fact the whole cottage is comfortably furnished. The terrace has shade and teak furniture so that you can eat, relax and admire the views in comfort. There is also a gas barbecue and easy access to the heated 10m by 5m pool with its sunshades, chairs and loungers. It is an excellent base for relaxing, walking, cycling, birdwatching and exploring Andalucia. Both Malaga and Granada airports are within easy reach.

Torcal Vista is between Casabermeja and Villanueva de la Concepcion, traditional Andalucian towns with shops, bars, restaurants and a medical centre. It is a 20 minute walk from Arroyo Coche which has a small bar and restaurant, a village store and a bakery. The Torcal Natural Park, famous for its wonderful limestone scenery and spectacular views, the Mountains of Malaga and the El Chorro gorge are within easy driving distance. Beyond El Torcal, Antequera has historic churches and buildings, a castle and ancient dolmens. It has shops, restaurants, a golf course and a bull ring. Malaga, a lively Spanish resort is nearby. It, too, has historic sites as well as the famous Picasso Museum, excellent tapas bars and restaurants, some by the beach, and a good shopping centre. The beaches of Costa del Sol are a half hour drive away. Granada with the world famous Alhambra Palace and Gardens is an hour away. Good road links mean that Seville, Cordoba and Ronda are also within reach

Additional information about rental rates

  • A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remainder must be paid no later than 8 weeks before arrival. We are only able to refund payments on cancellation if we subsequently get another booking for your reserved period. A damage deposit of £100 is payable at the beginning of your visit. This will be returned at the end of your stay on condition that the property is left in good order and any breakages are paid for. Deposit cheques will be retained and cashed only if damage or loss has occurred which has not been paid for.
  • The rental rate includes pool heating, central heating and air conditioning. It also includes all linen and towels, including pool towels. Fresh bed linen and towels will be provided each week. A welcome pack that contains wine, beer, tea, coffee, milk, bread and jam is included in the rental rate. Parking is available. A travel cot, baby bath and chair and high chair can be provided. Two mountain bikes can be hired.
  • The normal take over time is 4.00 pm and the property should be vacated by 10.00 am on the day of departure unless alternative arrangements are made with the owners. Guests are advised to make sure they have adequate holiday insurance.

Notes: Torcal Vista is a traditional Spanish finca. The Olive Mill has been lovingly restored to preserve its original character. Everybody comments on the views from the terrace and the comfortable beds. The property is equipped for 4 people plus a baby. A pet will be considered for long term renters only. The private pool is sometimes used by the owners.

A full information pack is provided. This includes everything you need to know about the house itself and local information such as bars, restaurants, shops and local activities. There are some excellent walks which start from the house and details of these are included. (We can also provide a drop-off/pickup service.) The local bird life ranges from sparrows, swallows, egrets, bee eaters and hoopoes to vultures and the occasional eagle. There is plenty of space around the house for children to play in and explore. We have a paddling pool for toddlers as well as baby equipment. Two adult size mountain bikes can be hired.

We provide information and maps of nearby tourist centres such as Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Ronda and Malaga and are happy to help you plan your visits if you want. Horse riding is available locally and there are golf courses in Malaga and Antequera.

Torcal Vista is ideal for a visit at any time during the year. The pool has shade and comfortable loungers for the summer and is heated when this becomes necessary. The house has air-conditioned bedrooms for summer and central heating for winter. There is plenty to do all the year round both locally and further afield.

No other word! Tony and Sally are very nice people and very helpful. House has been beautifully restored and swimming pool is fab too. Surroundings are amazing. Fully equipped for children. We could easily visit main places like Antequera and El Torcal (20min), Ronda, Granada, Cordoba and Seville (1h30 to 2h) by motorway that is about 10 min away from the house. We went on the beach (short distance- Malaga) but didn't like the creasy concrete development around! We preferred the lovely country side and natural park! If you like local food best place was to go in the village Villanueva de la Conception where you can find everything you need in small shops (nice oranges, cheese, "jamon" and sausages) . We had a great time we will recommend it to our friends.
