4 Star French Tourist Board Rated. 5 Globes Highly Commended internet rating. With a heated pool.The original Farmhouse dates back to the 18th century. A traditional French Longiere has the benefit of very few stairs, only two leading into the bedroom area and three from the kitchen to the dining room. The tiles in the lounge, kitchen and one of the bedrooms are original and unique for the area. In the lounge we have installed a wood burning fire which gives heat and a warm glow on the cooler evening in spring and winter, comfortably furnished and has TV and videos, hi-fi and cd’s, plus books and games for all ages. The oil fired central heating provides warmth throughout the gite. Anjou has a separate lounge, dining room and kitchen as well as a separate bathroom and toilet. Also two double bedrooms and one twin room. Cot and travel cot highchair and pushchair are also available on request. The heated pool is situated in the top garden, which soaks up the sun from morning to night

The region offers so many varied and beautiful places to visit that you will want to return time and time again. You can see everything from a rose garden (Les Chemins de la Rose) at Doue La Fontaine, to a Tank Museum at Saumur. Futurscope at Poitiers is a theme park packed with thrills and despite being an ideal day out for the children, it has plenty to entertain the 'big kid' in anyone with adventures for all ages. The night shows are fantastic!! The Loire is world famous for its beautiful Chateaux, very many of which are open to the public and should not be missed. The historic towns of Amboise, Blois, Saumur and Beaugency are jewels in the Loire's crown and therefore worth visiting. Saumur, which is only a 15 minute drive from the gite is a beautiful town, bordering the Loire river where there are many pretty walks to amble along. A visit to the Chateaux is a must, there is an optional 90 minute guided tour which covers the porcelain and equestrian exhibits.

    We offer a 10% discount on the second and subsequent weeks booked.

    Anjou is strictly no smoking and no pets. Oil central heating is payble localy. We provide all cleaning products including toilet products and washing up liquid. Arrivals are after 4pm and departures by 10am. Welcome packs are avaiable on request

The oil fired central heating provides warmth throughout the gite. Anjou has a separate lounge, dining room and kitchen as well as a separate bathroom and toilet. Also two double bedrooms and one twin room. Cot and travel cot highchair and pushchair are also available on request. Anjou has its own spacious private lawned garden overlooking the vineyards complete with BBQ, garden furniture, child’s picnic table etc…. The Heated swimming pool is positioned in the top garden which soaks up the sun from morning to evening. (The pool is open mid May to mid September) There are sun loungers, table & Chairs and also a children's unsupervised play area with swings, toddlers slide, climbing rope plus many trikes and other outside children's toys.

Why not try the fruit from our apple, pear, plum and apricot trees or the strawberries and raspberries.

My wife & i have stayed in Lys a couple of times & it is wonderfull,even better than it said on the website.The property was very clean & well maintained with all the comforts of home.John & Sue were marvelous hosts nothing was too much trouble.Sue (who is a fantastic cook prepared meals on certain evenings & Jon & Sue served them to us in our gite.They also have a very good wine selection @ A very good price.We visited last time with our Daughter,Son in law,& our 2 granddaughters who stayed in Anjou we BBQed most nights in Anjou's lovely garden & it was heaven on earth.We have booked to return in 2010.I have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone.
Owner's Response: Sue & I try very hard to make everyone's stay as wonderful as possible and have tried to think of everything that anyone would ever need.
Tony and Linda have stayed in two of our properties Lys and Anjou and tell us they love both!!
The meals are all home cooked, nothing is ready made, including the bread served with the meals and the wines are from a selection of vineyards within the Loire Valley, all carefully selected from small independent vinters.
We have a huge variety of toys, games books dvd's and are on hand with suggestions and recommendations for days out etc.
We love to welcome guests back and they become friends who often bring us baked beans!!

The Farmhouse was brilliant, and the private garden idea for relaxing and BBQ’s. We would recommend Anjou for families with children and also adults without, the Farmhouse is situated in a rural setting but only a few minutes from the bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets. The bread lady came every morning with croissants and bread, what a wonderful way to start the day.
We visited many Chateaux but the highlight of our holiday was the Zoo in Doue la Fontaine.
Sue’s 4 course meals are outstanding and excellent value, home cooked and as good if not better than the meals we had out.
Jon and Sue have thought of everything, we are recommending Anjou to all our friends, relations and business collegues.
