Beautiful farmhouse in The Snowdonia National Park

We are the closest self catering house to Snowdon and the Sherpa bus passes every 20 minutes in summer.

Snowdon House has been welcoming visitors to the National park for almost 50 years and is central for all the best that North Wales has to offer. The house sits in the Llanberis Pass with the mountains of Snowdonia rising to 3600ft on all sides. Just 10 minutes from the A55 expressway and three miles from the tourist village of Llanberis, with it's many shops and restraunts, the house is easy to find and is close to local shops and services. Within walking distance is the The Vaynol Arms, one of the best pubs in North Wales, with a wide selection of real ales and excellent food and log fires that create a special atmosphere.

The house has four doubles and a twin all with stunning mountain views. There are three newly fitted bathrooms one with a full size bath, Sauna and drying room. The new fully fitted kitchen/dining area has the luxury of underfloor heating. There are two separate lounge areas both with wood burning stoves in feature inglenooks with TV and Wi-Fi available.

At the end of a hard day on the hills you can enjoy a refreshing sauna in the 4 person sauna and relax in one of the two comfortable lounge areas. Each of these has a log burning stove in feature inglenooks - the one in the original cottage section dates back to when the house is thought to have been built in 1733. There is a TV in one lounge with the second lounge area intended to be more of a peaceful retreat at the end of the day where you can relax and listen to music or use the Wi-Fi connection.

Or you can head for the terrace with a glass of wine and take in the amazing mountain scenery rising 3000ft above the valley floor. There is a BBQ and the border is planted with herbs that you can use for your cooking. For the ultimate relaxation slip into the new luxury 6 person hot tub where you can relax and soak away the aches and pains of a hard day on the hills while you enjoy the stunning mountain views towards Snowdon, The Glyders and Crib Goch and plan tomorrow's adventure.

You can leave the car as the Sherpa bus service passes the house at twenty minute intervals during the summer, going in both directions around Snowdon. From the house you can walk to some of the best climbing in the British Isles and scrambling is available directly opposite the house.

As well as the hill walking, climbing and scrambling that are within walking distance, a few miles from the house you can visit Llanberis the gateway to Snowdonia. Here you can take a steam train to the summit on the Snowdon Mountain railway, visit the Welsh Slate museum, try out the Ropes and Ladders adventure park or stroll around the Padarn Country park. For the more adventurous you can do your Paddy diving certificate in Vivian Quarry. A short drive away you'll find the Menai Straits, award winning beaches and the castles at Caernarfon and Penrhyn. Within half an hour is the beautiful walled town of Conway, the castle at Beaumauris, and the picturesque villages of Betwy-y-Coed and Bedgellert.
