BEAUTIFUL FARMHOUSE IN THE SNOWDONIA NATIONAL PARK

Llanberis Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

Luxury accommodation in the Snowdonia National Park with hot tub and sauna

Snowdon House is situated in the Llanberis Pass, the most spectacular area of the Snowdonia National Park.

The house offers accommodation for 10-12 people with 4 doubles, and a twin with an additional sofa bed, all with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. It has full central heating and double glazing, a new fully fitted kitchen with underfloor heating, 3 bathrooms, 2 lounge areas with log burning stoves in feature inglenooks. There is a new outdoor hot tub, sauna and drying room, off road parking and a BBQ area and herb garden.

The house is an ideal base for exploring Snowdonia and the top ten attractions of North Wales are all less than an hour away. Climbing, walking, scrambling, canoeing, mountain biking, diving are all available within a few miles of the house. The footpath for the Glyders and Devil's Kitchen is just 200m from the door.

We are the closest self catering house to Snowdon and the Sherpa bus passes every 20 minutes in summer.

Snowdon House has been welcoming visitors to the National park for almost 50 years and is central for all the best that North Wales has to offer. The house sits in the Llanberis Pass with the mountains of Snowdonia rising to 3600ft on all sides. Just 10 minutes from the A55 expressway and three miles from the tourist village of Llanberis, with it's many shops and restraunts, the house is easy to find and is close to local shops and services. Within walking distance is the The Vaynol Arms, one of the best pubs in North Wales, with a wide selection of real ales and excellent food and log fires that create a special atmosphere.

The house has four doubles and a twin all with stunning mountain views. There are three newly fitted bathrooms one with a full size bath, Sauna and drying room. The new fully fitted kitchen/dining area has the luxury of underfloor heating. There are two separate lounge areas both with wood burning stoves in feature inglenooks with TV and Wi-Fi available.

At the end of a hard day on the hills you can enjoy a refreshing sauna in the 4 person sauna and relax in one of the two comfortable lounge areas. Each of these has a log burning stove in feature inglenooks - the one in the original cottage section dates back to when the house is thought to have been built in 1733. There is a TV in one lounge with the second lounge area intended to be more of a peaceful retreat at the end of the day where you can relax and listen to music or use the Wi-Fi connection.

Or you can head for the terrace with a glass of wine and take in the amazing mountain scenery rising 3000ft above the valley floor. There is a BBQ and the border is planted with herbs that you can use for your cooking. For the ultimate relaxation slip into the new luxury 6 person hot tub where you can relax and soak away the aches and pains of a hard day on the hills while you enjoy the stunning mountain views towards Snowdon, The Glyders and Crib Goch and plan tomorrow's adventure.

You can leave the car as the Sherpa bus service passes the house at twenty minute intervals during the summer, going in both directions around Snowdon. From the house you can walk to some of the best climbing in the British Isles and scrambling is available directly opposite the house.

As well as the hill walking, climbing and scrambling that are within walking distance, a few miles from the house you can visit Llanberis the gateway to Snowdonia. Here you can take a steam train to the summit on the Snowdon Mountain railway, visit the Welsh Slate museum, try out the Ropes and Ladders adventure park or stroll around the Padarn Country park. For the more adventurous you can do your Paddy diving certificate in Vivian Quarry. A short drive away you'll find the Menai Straits, award winning beaches and the castles at Caernarfon and Penrhyn. Within half an hour is the beautiful walled town of Conway, the castle at Beaumauris, and the picturesque villages of Betwy-y-Coed and Bedgellert.

Guestbook comments from the manager

My girlfriend and her family decided to do something special for their fathers 70th. They decided on a weekend in a cottage. After much deliberation over where to go, Llanberis seemed ideal. Then came the of hurdle of which cottage to book. After scouring the web Snowdon house fitted the bill perfectly (8 adults 2 children and a dog). We booked 2 months in advance with no problems, everything was well organised and there was even a happy birthday banner up and complimentary bottle of bubbly waiting for us on arrival. Jim and Anne (the owners) were delightful to deal with and more than happy to advise us on anything we asked. The first thing we noticed were the glorious surrounding mountain views. For us, the kitchen was an important factor. We all fitted around the table and with underfloor heating it served well as a very social room. The main living room was also large enough for us all to enjoy together. The slightly smaller snug was very cosy and allowed a more chilled atmosphere, both having log burner heaters. All the bedrooms were more than adequate and with three bathrooms there was no queuing !! We didn't use the sauna but the hot tub was fantastic. On the whole we all had a brilliant weekend and would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Snowdon House

  • 5 of 5
If you are after a beautiful house in a stunning location this is the place for you. The views from every window are breathtaking; on a clear day you can see the top of Snowdon from the front of the house. Recently refurbished in a modern style the house still manages to retain its farmhouse charm; the log burner makes the living area particularly cosy of an evening. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and fully equipped. There is also a patio area and barbecue at the back of the property if you are lucky enough to enjoy good weather during your stay. The local pub serving food is a mere 15 minute stroll. The property is an ideal base for a walking holiday around Snowdon or for those who want to explore further afield (Angelssey is a 20 min drive). Our family of 4 (two small children under 5) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Snowdon House and hope to return next year with the grandparents.

Perfect for a group of 7-8 or 2 families.

We were a group of 4 adults and 4 children. The owners were very helpfull. The house is equipped with all that you need. Its just as the photos are shown in the advert. It has a great Sun patio..perfect for cooling off on the day after your trek. Its a good location if you want to climb snowdonia as the sherpa bus stops just outside the house so can avoid car parking charges at Peny-pass. Shops are 3 miles down in LLanberis so will need the car for that. Will definitely go again.

Lovely cottage, great location for Snowdon.

  • 4 of 5
Had a fantastic break in this lovely cottage Recently renovated with a good finish. Decor very tasteful.Very clean and a good standard of amenities. .The owner called by to check everything was ok and had also left us a bottle of wine.
Only a couple of minor things that could improve experience. Beds on 1st floor were not that comfortable would benefit from a new mattress or topper. No light bulbs in one bedroom and need a pair of kitchen tongs for Bacon! A bit picky but only bad things about this cottage. The decking out the back with garden furniture and bbq is amazing, especially as we had sunny weather., and is due to have a hot tub , Can't wait! Would definitely return!

Great days out

  • 4 of 5
Snowdon House is beautiful located right between the mountains of Snowdonia. A lot of opportunities of places to visit as well for children as for grown ups :-).
Llanberies is nearby with a smal Spar-Supermarket. House is well equipped (especially the kitchen) and two bathrooms give enough space for everybody.
Thanks for a lovely stay.

Lovely house with amazing views

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at this house with three adults , a toddler (29 months) and a baby (11 months) and everybody had a really nice time. We brought our own baby gate but travel cot and booster seat was provided. The location is great for trips all over North Wales, we went to a few National Trust properties, Beddgelert, Portmeirion and the Slate Museum, as well as to Red Wharf Beach on Anglesey. There are lots of outdoor activities and walks to do locally as well.
The facilities in the house were good, especially useful was the dishwasher and washing machine. We would definitely go again.

The house is an ideal base for exploring the National Park and the top ten attractions of North Wales which are all less than an hour away. Climbing, walking, scrambling, canoeing, mountain biking, diving and para gliding are all available within a few miles of the house. Or try fishing for wild brown trout in lakes surrounded by stunning scenery or take the footpath for the Glyders and Devil's Kitchen, just 100m from the door.

We are the closest self catering house to the two main paths that lead up to the summit of Snowdon and the Sherpa bus passes the house every twenty minutes in summer allowing you to leave the car if you wish. The tourist village of Llanberis has craft shops and many good restraunts and from here you can catch the steam train that will take you to the summit on the highest cog railway in the British Isles.

Other Activities: Rock climbing, bouldering and canoeing

Golf: There are 9 golf courses within a 25 mile radius of the house. Bangor and Caernarfon are the closest being just 10 miles away. The Caernarfon course is described as 'Challenging but fair 18-hole parkland course with spectacular views of Snowdonia and the Menai Straits and Anglesey. Beautifully maintained with outstanding greens and fairways.'

The course at Bangor is open all year and welcomes visitors. More information on all the courses can be found on the link below.
