Heron Lodge is set in a lovely peaceful, rural location on edge of Mabie Forest a tranquil and peaceful location surrounded by beautiful countryside, with breathtaking views of surrounding countryside and Mabie Forest.

This luxury lodge is privately owned and can accommodate 4 guests in comfort with all modern amenities for a great self catering holiday break.Heron Lodge is very well equipped and pride ourselves in presenting this property in immaculate order to enable our guests to have a very comfortable stay all year round.Set in the former grounds of Cairnyard House on an uncommercialised site. Located 5 miles from Dumfries town on the A711 (Dumfries and Dalbeattie Road) and 1 mile before Beeswing village.

Take a relaxing weeks break either to take in the surrounding countryside and area or get out and about to explore historical places of interest or take time out to persue your hobbies or interests like fishing, birdwatching, golf, walking,mountain bike or horse riding .

Heron Lodge accommodating 4 people large and spacious rooms, in first class order and of modern style with guest comfort and enjoyment in mind at all times ensuring a wonderful holiday break for every guest anytime of year.

Bedrooms:- 1 double bedroom (10'X10') with lovely pine double bed, and pine wardrobe and cabinates.

1 twin bedded room(10'X10') with two pine single beds, and pine wardrobe and cabinates. Modern Bathroom (7'X6') with bath and shower over, sink and toilet.

Porch area (6'X5') with cloak area. Open plan Living room (16'X10') with sofa and 2 arm chairs, T.V. and Video, CD/Radio. Dining Kitchen (11'X8') with modern electrical appliances, Oven,Hob, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher,Washer/Dryer and self contained with all crockery, cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils, and pans. Toaster, Kettle, Microwave etc. Dining table with 4 chairs.

The Living area has large patio doors opening out over lovely countryside views with verandah decking complete with patio furniture and Gas BBQ for al-fresco dining. The Lodge is fully insulated and Double Glazed, with Full Electric Heating throughout, ensuring comfort for early/late season holidays or winter breaks.

Ideal base for couples and families alike for that relaxing weeks holiday lots of local places of interest like Robert Burns trail, Caerlaverock Castle and bird sanctuary,Shambelli Museum of Costume and Camera Obscura a short drive to the coast and lovely forest walks.

Comfortable, well-equipped lodge (good selection of books and games) in small, quiet park. Owner was friendly and responsive by e-mail.

There are many nice places to visit in the area (castles, museums, walks) at driving distance. Shops in Dumfries at 10 min drive. Nice restaurants in Kirkcudbright. Edinburgh at 2 hours drive via highway.

Recommended for a family stay in the beautiful Dumfries & Galloway area.

a real holiday hotspot free parking good selection of shops and restaurants and the rabie burns tour as well the only downside the weather.however theres so much to do and see the time just flew in

Excellent place to stay

We have stayed at Heron Lodge several times and will be back again later this year. The lodge itself has every thing required for a pleasant stay. It is clean, comfortable and well-maintained. The location is second to none, surrounded by beautiful forests with walks for all ages and abilities.
Being able to take the dog was the main attraction originally, but we have returned again and again owing to the location and the quality of our stay there.
The dog also loved the fact that we were able to take him for long walks straight out of the door with no lead and no car travel required.
We will be back!
