SUPERB SEAFRONT APARTMENT WITH BREATH TAKING VIEW ON YOUR PRIVATE BALCONIES

Komarna Apartment Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom, 2 balcony large apartment and closest to the sea

Beautiful location, gorgeous spacious apartment for a fantastic Croatian seaside holiday with breath taking views ! Enjoy the Adriatic sun from you private balcony with a clear view of the Dalmatian Islands and Peljasic Peninsula. This first floor apartment is on the promenade in the Croatian fishing village of Komarna. Fully air conditioned throughout, with all mod cons including a washing machine. There is a beautiful sea side walk and great swimming just yards away and the apartment has some rods if you would like to try some fishing. If you are looking for a relaxing break in glorious weather then this apartment is perfect. As a touring base the location is superb to see the Adriatic Islands of Hvar, Miljet and Brac, Historic cities, Roman ruins, beautiful waterfalls ( the list goes on!). There is a large table, made from locally quarried marble,on the balcony which is ideal for breakfast, lunch or evening meal (with a glass of wine). With a gentle sea breeze it is a glorious way to start and finish your perfect holiday day

Exploring the area : To the north of Komarna is Zadar, with its exceptional monuments, and the islands of the Zadar archipelago, the southern part of which is designated the Kornati National Park. The road travels on to Sibenik, with its perfectly preserved old town centre and splendid cathedral, and Trogir, an architectural jewel. The ruins of the Roman town of Salona are just outside the city of Split, which developed within the Palace of Emperor Diocletian. The coastal road turns inland to cross the delta of the Neretva and reaches Ston, a point of access to the peninsula of Peljesac. Finally on a rocky spur stands the medieval city of Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. All the traffic running from Split to Dubrovnik pass through the 9Km stretch of coast that is part of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The main town is Neum, a holiday resort on the coast. Prices are cheaper here than in Croatia and as a result it is a popular place for Croatians to shop. Nuem has several shops and restaurants.

The vineyards of Dalmatia: Vines are grown all along the coast of Dalmatia - in pockets of stony soil on the coast and islands. Production varies in quantity and quality but standards are improving and there are some very decent wines around. Dalmatia is known for Posip and Grk for Korcula (both white wines), Dingac (one of the best Croatian reds) and Postup from the Peljesac peninsula. Plavac (red) comes from Brac and Malmsy from Dubrovnik.

Croatian Holiday

  • 5 of 5
Komarna is a lovely place and this is a really nice apartment. My favourite part of our holiday was getting out of bed in the morning and going straight in for a swim in the sea just below the apartment. Then coming up for a hot shower and a fresh coffee while sitting on the balcony looking at the beautiful view. I also loved the balcony in the evening having something to eat with a glass of wine. My only criticism is that the local shop only carries basic items and the supermarkets are 15 minutes drive away.

Family Holiday in Croatia

  • 5 of 5
Our family (3 Adults - Mother/Father and Grandmother plus 3 Children ages 8, 10 and 15) stayed at the property and had a great time. Arriving in late June the area is still pretty empty, but come July the tourists start arriving. Car is a must and there is parking available. The location is ideal for day trips to Dubrovnik, Peljesac, Mostar (Bosnia) and the many other quaint towns and villages along the coast. The property is excellent and Paul the owner is great - he is easy to communicate with and is always helpful. Once there the apt is very nice, clean and spacious. The balcony is great and the views from it are fantastic when sipping some Plavac or Babic. The 26 steps to the beach can't be beat! You are all of 1 minute away from the beach. The staff that assist you in getting keys and who operate the Villa Bili are always helpful. The restaurant is the only one in town and it features a great variety of foods, excellent seafood - but is the only one in town. We frequently made our own meals to keep costs down. We shopped at the Super Konzum in Metkovic, but there are multiple options that are closer. Again car is required since Komarna is a sleepy fishing village so if you are looking for wild and crazy night life stay in Split or Dubrovnik. As the website indicates there are a few options for visiting different beaches and day trips are super easy. The many steps in Komarna like many other places that are on the coast in Croatia can be a challenge for people with mobility problems.

Once again thank you Paul for sharing your great apt with us we really had a great time!

Very good, clean, great views - wonderful sunsets!

  • 4 of 5
Quiet spot but great base to tour up and down the Dalmatian coast and inland to Mostar and Medjugorje. Dubrovnik is brilliant and we even went as far north as Split and Trogir which is also fantastic. Spectacular scenery! Suggest not going early in June as the season doesn't really get going that early - the pool was empty until our second week and the local restaurant had a very limited menu and only one ice-cold red house wine. Still we had a great time - fantastic mix of relaxing sun and ancient history! Many thanks Paul.

Owner's Response: Hi Mark,

I am delighted that ye had a great time! Yes, it seems strange to Northern Europeaners that in most of Dalmatia the red wine is served from the fridge!

Thanks again,

Fantastic Apartment with totally Amazing views!!

  • 5 of 5
The apartment is in a fabulous location, with direct views across the whole of the seafront from the massive balcony.
Light, spacious and airy rooms, easily capable of sleeping 6 in 3 lovely bedrooms. The air conditioning was heavenly, especially with the August day-time temperatures hitting 45 °C regularly during our week.
Big kitchen, large dining table, and comfy lounge made our stay extremely relaxing.

Komarna is a wonderful little unspoilt village. It's a 1-restaurant (plus 1 beach bar) town, which has that true "get away from it all" feel. The villagers are friendly and helpful and made us feel totally at ease. Only a small village shop for supplies, but it has what you need to keep afloat (bread/milk/veg and wine!).
In all our travels (and we've been lucky to have well-worn passports) we have never swam in a cleaner, warmer sea. The waters are packed with fish (which made taking a small telescopic rod well worth it!), unbelieveably clear, and fantastic to play in. Our 5 year old son previously took some persuasion to hit the salt-water, but not this time - he's a total convert!

We loved the location, about 80mins easy drive from Dubrovnik airport along the coastal road to Split. The views are tremendous and we were tempted to stop around every corner to take pictures. A 20 min drive north to Opuzen makes a nice detour - take in the Neretva river and have lunch at the Hotel Merlot - really good food with the added bonus of wine tasting! Wander a little further inland to Metkovic to avail yourselves of the large supermarkets and change some money if needed).

The stairs down to the sea and up to the restaurant/car park are a little steep - not suitable for wheelchair access or for people with walking difficulties. We managed just fine and certainly aren't entering the marathon this year :-).

Seriously worth taking a chance on this apartment and village as long as you want peace, quiet, views and a wonderful seaside experience. We liked it so much we've asked Paul for advice on buying an apartment in the area.

  • 5 of 5
Seven members of our family aged from 2 to 65 stayed here, and the apartment is great. We had our own little slice of paradise ,the view from the balconey is fantastic. Its very spacious, and suited us well.We came for a week and we had a mini-bus,so got around a fair bit, including the waterfalls,Dubrovnik,Ston,Mostar, and also a few visits to Neum for the cheaper shopping. This was our first visit to Croatia, and we will certainly be back.

Car: recommended

Geographically Komarna is 5 miles north of Neum, 3km from Klek, in Croatia set into the coast in the natural bay that is Komarna Bay. It is set about a mile off the Dubrovnik to Split road and approx. half way between the two. The village is a 35 minute drive to Medjugorje in Bosnia Hertzegovina. The village is back-dropped by an impressive untamed mountain range with local vineyards at the foot of the hills. The area is very rich in culture and a day trip to the old town of Dubovnik and Ston are highly recommended. The apartment is air conditioned and has external shuttering on all windows so it is very comfortable on even the hottest days. The apartment is first floor on the shore and is just 12 steps from the Adriatic. The apartment has access to an indoor pool from June to September and a Gym for a small additional charge. Opuzen a small town is 15 minutes by car and Metkovic and Ploce about 30 minutes. Transport to and from the airport can be arranged.

Other Activities: Most water sports
