Moulin Drap's own river frontage and shady island are set in two and a half acres amid beautiful countryside. There is also the added benefit of a superb heated pool. Peaceful and quiet but only five minutes from the village amenities.
There are two properties on the site but they are about 200 metres apart, down a gentle slope towards the river, so each retains wonderful privacy.
The millers house sleeps up to 8 people with its own river fishing. The village 2.5 miles away, has a lovely restaurant, a bar, a good boulangerie and butcher, a Chemist and even a hairdresser. There are also tennis courts in the village, a large fishing lake and a museum.
Within a short drive you'll find pretty villages, riding, water sports and the Brenne National park with its wonderful wildlife. Poitiers Futuroscope is only an hour away and the chateaux and vineyards of the Loire Valley can be reached in an hour and a half.
The millers house has four bedrooms which are accessed by a wooden spiral staircase, a large, well equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge. There is a utility room with washing machine, the bathroom has a shower and bath with separate WC's both up and downstairs.
There is a large terrace for al fresco dining and even larger poolside terrace equipped with shade and loungers. The pool is 11m by 5.5m and ranges from 1m to 1.5m in depth and can be heated from May until September, although this is not usually necessary.
The grounds gently slope down to a lovely island which divides the river from the mill stream in which it's possible to catch the occasional trout. The whole is set in peaceful countryside with little disturbance save the call of the local buzzards.
The village of Prissac has a great restaurant, a lovely boulangerie and a tiny but superb Butcher. Further out both Argenton-sur-Creuse and Le Blanc are about 20 minutes drive away and have many shops, bars and restaurants. The ancient and pretty town of St Benoit du Sault is only 10 minutes away. The Brenne National Park is on our doorstep and includes the 'Land of a Thousand Lakes' where there is fishing, walking, riding and lots of wildlife to be seen at first hand. Count the kingfishers whilst canoeing down the River Creuse. Many water sports can be found at the Lac du Chambon, about 30 minutes drive away. With Tennis in the Village.
There are many local Chateaux to visit. The nearby Loire Valley boasts many superb wine caves and even closer, you will find the delicious wines of Reuilly. Discover the wonderful Cathedral and famous Limoges pottery only 40 minutes drive from the house.
