Theoxenia is a comfortable modern villa built on high ground in peaceful surroundings 500ft above sea level, overlooking olive groves with wonderful mountain views. The ground floor of Theoxenia provides two apartments for holiday lets. This apartment ('Robin') sleeps two in twin bedded room with large en suite shower room, has a light airy living area, well equipped kitchen and private patio. Theoxenia stands in its own grounds where you can enjoy relaxing in the garden or by the pool. Our principal aim is to provide a tranquil atmosphere in which to shed stress and with only two apartments (the other 'Kestrel' sleeps 4) you will find peace and privacy & often may find have the pool to yourself.Kestrel looks out over the pool and is the same style as Robin but has two separate bedrooms with large en suite bathrooms on both.all you need for a really relaxing holiday.

We will be more than happy to tell you about our favourite quiet and interesting places, many of which do not appear in the guide books. We can direct you to horse riding, scuba diving, water skiing and many walks. Georgioupolis, originally a fishing village has expanded over the years to accommodate holiday makers who come to enjoy its sandy beaches, relaxed atmosphere and 'buzz' on Summer nights. Good tavernas are plentiful, as are quality gift shops and small supermarkets where wine can be bought straight from the barrel. Georgioupolis can be reached in five minutes by car or a 25minute walk down hill. For those not wanting to walk back up the hill a taxi can usually be found costing about 5 euros. We are roughly midway between Chania 35km west and Rethymnon 25km east. Both are ancient towns full of interest with small winding streets, alleyways and, of course, picturesque harbours with tavernas, etc. There is a regular bus service from Georgioupolis to both towns.

    Charter flights also come into Heraklion (2 hours drive) from many UK airports. We can arrange taxi or hire car to meet flights into either airport.

    Please note that we live in the upstairs apartment of Theoxenia and, therefore, we are on hand to assist at most times and do our best to fit 'domestics' around your holiday arrangements but the apartment will be cleaned throughout and linen & towels changed at least once a week.

Notes: We provide a welcome pack with both our apartments just a few things to get you started in case of late arrival.We have a no smoking policy inside the apartments but there is plenty of outside space where we have no objection to this.We would advise car hire as it is an uphill walk all the way from Geogioupolis.

The pool is in an elevated position overlooking olive groves with mountains beyond; 10m x 4.5m, fully tiled with paved area around surrounded by flowers. There is a shady pergola chairs, tables, sun loungers & barbeque. Both apartments are well equipped and fitted more as homes rather than "bare bones" holiday lets.We provide a welcome pack to our guests with a few first basic needs.We also provide cling film,kitchen foil,salt pepper and sugar.Towels tea towels and washing up sponges are also provided,poolside towels are not,though if you forget one we do have spares. We think we have the best of both worlds here as you can simply laze around the pool, soaking up the silence and scenery before strolling down to one of the local tavernas .. or prepare your own meal, barbeque or takeaway to enjoy by the glow of the underwater pool lighting; or you can enjoy a day on the beach, or explore the island which has so much to be explored.

For this most people like to hire a car for at least part of their holiday and we are able to arrange discounted car hire, if required.
