We will be more than happy to tell you about our favourite quiet and interesting places, many of which do not appear in the guide books. We can direct you to horse riding, scuba diving, water skiing and many walks.
Georgioupolis, originally a fishing village has expanded over the years to accommodate holiday makers who come to enjoy its sandy beaches, relaxed atmosphere and 'buzz' on Summer nights. Good tavernas are plentiful, as are quality gift shops and small supermarkets where wine can be bought straight from the barrel.
Georgioupolis can be reached in five minutes by car or a 25minute walk down hill. For those not wanting to walk back up the hill a taxi can usually be found costing about 5 euros.
We are roughly midway between Chania 35km west and Rethymnon 25km east. Both are ancient towns full of interest with small winding streets, alleyways and, of course, picturesque harbours with tavernas, etc. There is a regular bus service from Georgioupolis to both towns.
