Kalkan - Kas area Vacation Rental villa: Kalkan

As we were enjoying our stay at the Villa Louise to the very last minute I didn't have the time to complete my comments in the Villa Louise Visitors Book so i'm grateful to have the opportunity to write a more public review.

As holiday accommodation Villa Louise lives up to and sometimes exceeds it's 'luxury villa' title and what you see advertised and described by the owners is at the very least what you get. The property was clean, well appointed and maintained with the garden and pool visited by the friendly caretakers on a daily basis. The villa's location for the views and being a little distant from the 'maddening crowd' was superb. The overall layout is ideal and being an 'end' villa has also been given a little more ground than those surrounding it. The BBQ area on a raised patio with views is a dream addition to the layout along with the forever inviting pool with temperatures still in th 80's during our October visit

The only downside to the villa's location is the need to tackle a sometimes precarious down hill walk to Kalkan village which I calculate to be more like 30 mins when taking it easy, than the 20 mins suggested to get to the main shopping area and sea front. I would also recommend getting a taxi on the return journey especially if laden with shopping bags.

Kalkan itself has a myriad of choices in terms of the restaurants available and there are plenty of shops for general groceries and normal holiday shopping however, what is nice is that Kalkan still manages to maintain it's village charm also reflected by the and genuinly friendly and more homely demeanor of the locals. As well as the picturesque village streets there is a small idyllic harbour offering refuge for both local fishing boats and luxurious yachts. Have a wander round the village centre and harbour for the various tourist trips on offer before choosing the site seeing trip for you, for most of which recommendations and experiences will have been provided in the Villa Louise Visitors Book.

The owner provided very good customer service throughout and
I was not let down or disappointed. Therefore, I would definitely recommend this property to my family and friends. (though perhaps not to my elderly parents or families with very young children).

Had a great holiday. Kalkan and Kas very friendly with loads of good restaurants. We spent a lot of time at Patara 'Turtle' Beach which our son Charlie (3) in particular loved. I would say Car hire is essential although you could do taxis everywhere if you are feeling flush.
The Villa was lovely and clean and well maintained with beautiful views.
Only negative was the Pool was freezing or refreshing depending on your gender and didnt have a shallow end.
We stayed early season end May/June. Weather was excellent.
Oh and dont bother getting to the airport early unless you have a very fat wallet i think i paid about £7 for a pint of beer ...nice.
