This comfortable former coach house has spectacular views across the estuary. Well situated, it is situated in the town which has fine restaurants and shops. St. Valery is a traditional fishing port and the place from which William The Conqueror set sail for England.

A narrow gauge steam railway operates across the salt marshes to the resort of Le Crotoy,and there are fast rail links from the train station of Noyelles to Paris (2 hrs away)

Just a few words to say thankyou for getting our booking sorted out and our appreciation for the lovely holiday we had.St Valery really has everything to offer for all the family with good restaurants and shops,The steam train trip around the bay and the boat trip were a real thrill for the family ,the bay really is quite magical !

We spent a day in Paris which was nearer than we thought and great fun ,but it was good to get back to the coast just in time to sea the fabulos sunset.

We will definitely be back next year.

JUST BRILLIANT

We have stayed here many times over the last 10 years and would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone. Lovely spacious accommodation, well equipped dinning kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher, with two sets of French doors that open out onto a small balcony. We always sit until late in the evening, watching the world go by. The front of the property also looks across the quayside to the bay, with lovely views and boats sailing by. Always spotlessly clean, and comfortable, modern TV with satellite chanels and dvd player. At the rear there is a second entrance with a wonderful enclosed rooftop garden and bbq. The views of the surrounding rooftops from the garden are just outstanding. There is central heating downstairs and individual heaters upstairs that can be adjusted to suit. We have often used this property during the winter and it is always nice and warm. There is a sweet shop just a couple of door away selling some general provisions as well, the lady who runs it greets us as old friends each time we return and it well worth patronising. There is a large market on a Sunday morning in the river side car park in the centre of town (out of the property and walk left down the side of the river) . There are some lovely walks along the riverside in both directions, you can actually walk many miles along the banks into Abbeville if you are really enthusiastic, all suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs and bikes. Bikes can be hired. There is a take away in close proximity to the house and many bistro type restaurants and those for fine dining all within the immediate area. The main shopping street starts just a few door down from the house with some really nice shops to suit all tastes. The old train that runs all around the bay to neighbouring seaside towns is just along the quayside and is very popular. All the quayside and train station has been recently modernised and is fantastic. There are large supermarkets on the way into the village, including a McDonalds! The area is very interesting with many cultural and historical attractions. The Old part of St Valery contains some fascinating, very old buildings and historic town walls including the Joan of Arc gate which has recently been restored.

A PERFECT PLACE TO STAY.

The house is well equipped and in a perfect central position in St Valery. Its the ideal place to watch the world go by. A small balcony off the kitchen being an excellent viewpoint to sit with a coffee or a glass of wine to see the boats and hustle and bustle of the village. There was always something to see ! One of the nights of our stay there was an amazing firework display just across the water and sat on the balcony it was like it was just for us !
The house was clean,tidy and spacious with ample room for the seven in our party.With a washing machine, plenty of kitchen equipment and a lovely big dining space. A private and secluded terrace garden provided an excellent barbecue area and was the perfect quiet spot to soak up the afternoon sun.
The age range of my party was 11yrs to 74yrs and St Valery and the surrounding area catered well for us. We drove to Amiens and Abbeyville, went to Jules Vernes house and explored the shops. La Belle Dune a few kms away was also great with a golf course and a large pool complex with slides and flumes and wave machines. St Valery itself is perfect and so pretty compared to the other small towns we discovered on our stay. The steam train ride around the bay to see the wildlife is a must as well as one of the organised walks across the bay( it was muddy but amazing, however our guide only spoke French not so good for the non French speakers in our group) all easily booked in St Valery.The Friday night aritisan market along the waters edge was worth a look and the normal market days busy and great for fresh produce. There were lots of lovely walks into the old town and beyond across the salt flats.
The small open air bar on the beach/sand right at the end of the boardwalk by the water was a great place to have a drink and sit in the sun at the end of the day. Plenty of good places to eat and local shops for souveniers.
I thought that the parking may have been an issue but we found a great free car park at the top of the town which was only a few minutes walk from the house and we could always park even in the height of the summer.
I would reccommend this property to a friend or relative and St Valery itself if a real jewel.

There is a a fine Sunday market along the quai side for local stallholders and others - it is well worth a visit.

The town is within easy reach of the beaches along the Cote d'Opal as well as many places of interest that can be visited inland.

The chic resort of Le Touquet with restaurants, fine shops and water theme park, Fort Mahon with its Aqualud and several top golf courses all within the local area make St. Valery an excellent choice for a great holiday.

Calais 1 hour 15 minutes and Paris 2 hours by car.
