We were living busy lives in London both working in retail. When we found out that we were expecting a child we wanted him to have the very best start in life with the opportunity to live in a safe, secure and clean enviroment with the advantage of having both parents with him in his early years. We have managed to utilise our previous knowledge and skills to create a fabulous home and business.

Mr Andrew Fern purchased this cottage in 2007

After scouring many areas in France in which to set up our home and business, none could revival this. The scenerary is stunning, our piece of paradise!. Many of our guests agree. The area is known as the lungs of France, clean and pure. Its likened to the lake district, the difference being we can provide a little less rain and more sunshine!

When you stand outside the house which is on an elevation, the views below are breathtaking. The whole valley is surrounded by some of the very tallest trees, which gives the house privacy, its like an oasis in the forest, the gardens have matured beautifully and the pool below glistens in the sunshine. At the end of the lake is the magnificent viaduct which in summer months has the steam train rolling across it.

“Perfect getaway from it all!”

Two years since we stayed in the Mill. The setting is stunning and Andy & Georgina made sure our stay was perfect from the moment we arrived. I tried some fly fishing on the lake which I found wonderfully relaxing and the surroundings were so tranquill. The mill was well furnished and was a "home from home". We had a delightful meal which was prepared by Andy on our wedding anniversary. We do hope to go back some day!

Breathtaking location!

The property perches on several levels on a hillside leading down to a babbling brook. Around the corner a gazebo offers a rest beside a peaceful lake, presided over by the towering arches of a viaduct. The Moulin is surrounded by forest and feels a million miles from anywhere, which is just what you want in these perfect surroundings. It is in fact just down the road from a reasonably sized and pretty town, but is absolutely tranquil.
The hosts, Andy and Georgina, a couple from England, are very friendly and accommodating, and their cooking holds its own in this country of high quality cuisine. Their refurbishment of the old buildings is very tasteful and stylish. I cannot recommend Moulin des Farges highly enough. A real find.

Something special

If you are looking for something special - this is the place for you!
Our experience at Moulin des Farges was one that we will remember for a very long time for all the best reasons. We stayed one week in the gite and then 6 nights in the main house. We were therefore fortunate to sample both the rustic charm of the mill and exquisite decor and ambiance of the house. The hospitality we received from Georgina and Andy was first class and the food they created for us was truly exceptional. We were fortunate to meet Andy's mum and dad Marion and Rod who were equally as hospitable and we remember fondly our chats on the terrace.
We really do hope to return to Moulin des Farges.

Beautiful surroundings

A group of 10 of us descended on Moulin des Farges and from the initial booking through the arrival and duration of our stay, Andy and Georgina were incredible hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and they provided me with a plentiful supply of information about activities available in the area, as well as recommending restaurants in the towns and villages nearby. This all made planning the weekend very painless.

When we arrived at Moulin des Farges, we were taken aback by the beauty of the building itself and the surrounding countryside. Inside was just as good too! Andy and Georgina have thoughtfully decorated each room differently in a contemporary but sympathetic way.

The food and hospitality we had were exceptional and everyone had a really good time. I would definitely recommend Moulin des Farges to anyone, from families to couples, to groups and I will certainly be going back!

Just as we imagined!

This is a really charming old mill house beautifully restored and decorated with plenty of character. The valley and lake belonging to the house are surrounded by thickly wooded countryside with good walking straight from the door- especially entertaining when we borrowed Phoebe, the dog of the house! Andy and Georgina are exceptionally good hosts and always willing to help with arrangements, such as horse riding around the local lake. We had dinner on 3 nights and the food was always delicious. There was a lovely atmosphere on the terrace and heating for the table when it got chilly. A very relaxing and enjoyable week was had by the whole family.
