The studio is located in an 18th century 'hotel particulier', so typical from the Marais. It is on the first floor (with elevator) overlooking a quiet, but bright courtyard. A large and high window allows lots of light to come in. It has wooden floors and a 3,50m high ceiling with traditional Parisian wooden beams that provides great volume and character. It has been decorated with taste, many charming details and art-deco features.
It is ideal for a romantic stay in Paris, or comfortable for a business-trip as well.
Shopping and going around: The apartment is also ideally located for serious shopping as the Marais is one of the best locations in Paris with lots of designers and independent stores, very conveniently opened on Sundays. It is also near the Bazar de l'hotel de Ville, one of Paris' large department stores and just 15 minutes away by tube from the Opera and the well-known gallery Lafayette and Printemps department stores.
Having 3 tube stations nearby, Arts-et-metiers and Rambuteau, Hotel de Ville, you can easily reach any area in Paris in 15-30 minutes by tube, or take buses that will take you across the Seine in the quarter Latin in just 10 minutes, or along the Seine (bus72a real sightseeing!)
The bed is on the mezzanine (height = 5 feet):
Where do I begin! It was my first time in Paris and I wanted to experience this magical city with my husband like locals. This apartment was the perfect place and location. It has so many hip restaurants nearby and the train was just a few blocks away. Being a young girl, I will tell you I felt safe walking the streets even at night. The apartment itself is so charming & cozy; some days I wouldn't want to leave it. I'm from Miami, FL so this was such a unique retreat for me. I will say it is quite small, but you can make it work.
Most importantly the owner Daniele was so sweet and so accommodating. This was a last minute trip and she made sure to make it work with just 3 days notice. She was always available and even allowed me to extend my trip. Without a doubt, this cute apartment in Le Maris will be my home of choice whenever I'm in Paris!
Loved our stay: everything provided and so close to all treats. Really comfortable and stylish apartment with atmosphere.
Two of us (in our fifties) have just spent two weeks in this tiny, well-equipped apartment and loved it. Everything was clean and well maintained, Daniele was friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with and the cost seemed very reasonable given how expensive Paris can be. There are numerous museums and other attractions within walking distance, a superb boulangerie and small supermarkets nearby in rue Rambuteau and lots of places to eat out. We had very hot late summer weather and needed to have the window open at night so there was some intermittent street noise but the apartment and the courtyard it overlooks were mostly very quiet and peaceful. We would definitely recommend this accommodation.
My wife and I spent four nights here in early March. We would gladly have stayed much longer. The studio is beautifully and elegantly furnished, clean, comfortable, has everything you need, and is just delightful. Perfect for two, it would however be a bit small for three for a longer stay. The location is superb, much of the centre is within easy walking distance. Being set back from the street, in a courtyard, we also found it very quiet and restful. Danièle is charming and was very helpful with directions and arrangements for us to be let in. We really look forward to our next stay here.
I stayed here with my wife on our honeymoon and we really enjoyed the apartment and dealing with Daniele in setting up the reservations. The owners were very nice and helpful. I hope my wife and I can make it back there one day.
We stayed in Daniele Tesseire’s tastefully decorated apartment for two weeks in late November, 2010, and found it ideal as a base for an in-depth visit to Paris. The location is perfect: the Marais is a fascinating, small-scale part of old Paris, and yet buzzing with energy and full of marvelous food shops. The studio apartment is only a few blocks from the Pompidou Museum, and equidistant from three, excellent Metro stops. A 7-minute walk takes you right to the Hotel de Ville and the bridge across to Notre Dame. The apartment itself is just right for two people, no wasted space to pay for! A huge window looks out into the courtyard, and the living room is ideal for sitting and relaxing after a full day. The kitchen is small, but worked for preparing breakfast, or having a dinner or lunch built from items from the numerous, magnificent cheese, meat, bread and deli shops on Rues Rambuteau or Beaubourg. The sleeping loft doesn’t have quite enough height to stand up in, but we didn’t find that a problem, and the stairs up and down were also perfectly manageable – we’re in our 50’s. The bed itself is very comfortable. Security is great – one enters into the courtyard with an electronic reader, and the deadbolt lock on the apartment door itself is serious! We thought this apartment was a find for the price and location, and Madame Tesseire was charming and helpful throughout the process from first contact through checkout.
Le Marais is an old typical Parisian district. Museums such as the Historic Museum of the City of Paris (Carnavalet) or Musée Picasso are just nearby. The area is very lively (though the street on which the apartment is located is itself very quiet) and most of the houses have been newly restored, becoming new fashion designers shops, art galleries, or nice restaurants. Centre Georges Pompidou and Hotel de Ville are both 5 minutes walk. It is also an easy walk to Notre-Dame, ile St Louis, ile de la cite, place des Vosges.
The apartment has several supermarkets nearby (including a bio store) and local typical food stores just minutes away on rue Rambuteau and rue de Bretagne. The closest bakery with delicious baguette is just 1 minute away. And you'll find the oldest covered market of Paris, Marche des Enfants-Rouges, just 5 minutes away (great fresh food and wonderful take-away).
