Casa De Emdeko, an oceanfront condominium complex, is located on famous Alii Drive just 1.5 miles south of Kailua Kona Village.

Casa offers guests the perfect blend of Hawaiian ambiance with tropical gardens and the songs of the many colorful birds enjoying the garden. Enjoy the garden pool located in the middle of a tropical setting, or the salt water pool where you can swim and soak up the Hawaiian sun while watching the whales or dolphins play, depending on the season of your visit. The private sandy man-made beach area at the ocean's edge offers glorious sunsets with a special sense of serenity while overlooking the shimmering Pacific. The cabana, barbeques and lanai tables are perfect for dinner gatherings with friends and making new friends from around the world.

The complex has an elevator, central air-conditioning as well as several ceiling fans throughout the condo. Casa’s friendly, comfortable and peaceful ambiance offers a wonderful alternative to the fast-paced, expensive resorts and lets you experience the Aloha Spirit of the islands.

Walk a few blocks to the open market for fresh fruits and veggies or a little over a mile to downtown historic Kailua Kona. Watch the people and the cruise ships come and go from the Kailua Pier. This was our second time staying in condo #338. We enjoyed every evening on the lanai and although we did not have a sunset in 7 days, we enjoyed the view. The days were spent watching whales and dolphins swim by. The location cannot be beat.

There are a few negative things- the condo needs the carpets cleaned. Guests must not remove their shoes as requested and there were stains from past guests. Please also supply some basic cleaning supplies to help maintain this property.

We have stayed in this unit many times in the past when we knew the owner. However, a number of years ago the unit was sold and we have not stayed in it since. The kitchen has not been remodeled but is ok with us. The down side of this unit is that you can tell that the owners don't stay in the unit. We rent condos often and what we normally find is that extra things are left in the cupboards such as cooking oil, spices, al foil, saran wrap, garbage bags, couple cans of soda, water beer etc. Then as we use things, we replace them and leave other items that we have purchased. There was nothing in this unit except salt and pepper! One thing that is not acceptable is that you can see right through the curtains in the bedroom and people walk by often! I hung towels up over the curtain rod so that we could have some privacy. I didn't want some poor fellow dying of a heart attack when he happened to glance in the window and saw my old naked body!! This should really be taken care of. If the owners stayed in the unit, they would definitely do something different. We love the salt water pool. We stay at the Casa for specifically that. In fact, when we rent a condo at the Casa, we make sure the pool will be open. This particular unit is the best one in the complex for the view. It is spectacular!

We had a fabulous 4 days at CDE #338 Everything was as advertised, the condo had everything that we could have possibly wanted! The best thing about the whole stay was watching the ocean from the wrap around lanai the sunsets in the evening were SPECTACULAR!! Cristina from Boundless Hawaii was a joy to deal with!

This is an older complex, in a great location, with well maintained grounds and an amazing salt water pool. We loved the lanai with the million dollar view. Overall, our stay was very lovely. There were some problems that I'm hoping will be corrected by management for future guests: 1) We were surprised to find construction going on outside of our door since we weren't informed of this at booking, 2) The back sliding glass door had a handle that was rusted and falling off the door, 3) both toilets didn't work properly, 4) there are no spices in the kitchen, not even salt and pepper (we left behind a set for the next guests),5) the lamp in the guest room was broken, 6) the patio furniture was corroded and peeling, however; the beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. The manager, Christina, was very responsive and apologetic about the construction. Future note: always make sure to ask if construction is going on at the property before booking.

Million Dollar View

This is a lovely, older complex with well maintained grounds, including the fabulous salt water pool. The pros: the unit had an amazing lanai with a million dollar view, the master bedroom was very comfortable (including a fabulous shower), and the living room and kitchen were nice. The cons: There were no spices in the kitchen, not even salt and pepper (we left the set behind that we bought for the next guests). Sadly, it isn't well maintained and needs some tlc. The back sliding door had a handle that was rusted and falling off, both toilets didn't work properly, the patio furniture is corroded and the paint is peeling off and one of the chairs was broken, the lamp in the guest room was broken, and the tub/shower unit in the guest bathroom is a hassle to use. The biggest frustration was that a construction remodel was going on outside of our front door and the property management company didn't notify of this fact. We spoke to the contractor ourselves and they tried their best to minimize the disruption to us. Suggestion to all travelers: always ask if construction is going on at the complex before booking. Overall, we had a lovely stay and worked our way around the problems. The lanai and ocean front location made up for a lot of the problems with the unit.
