Set near the historic market town of Duras, Pierrot is within an easy drive of the Dordogne valley. The wine chateaux of St. Emilion/Bordeaux and Entre Deux Mers are near-at-hand, as well as the bastides (fortified towns) of the Guyenne, a region that provided the backcloth to the Hundred Years War. As you might expect in this part of France, where local people expect to eat well, there is an abundance of excellent, well-priced restaurants.
