An absolute gem

Chris_Dublin Dublin
Review Submitted: May 26, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2007
Having looked at the pictures and read the details on the website our expectations were high. They were easily exceeded!
On arrival, we were amazed at the beauty and tranquility of the location. You feel like you're leaving all the stresses of the world behind as you drive on to the island. We were met by very friendly staff who showed us around and explained how everything worked on the island.
Then we arrived at the boathouse itself. It is simply stunning! The views through the floor to ceiling windows, the furniture, the fittings, all added up to a very special house. And I have never stayed anywhere which was so well equipped. Every detail had been considered.
We spent a long weekend there and it was hard to drag ourselves away from the house. You could spend hours just admiring the view. The woodland walks are beautiful. And we loved the fact that each house could book the pool/steam room for an hour so you had privacy there.
After our break we all felt wonderfully relaxed but vowed that we'd stay longer on our next visit.

Wonderful Wedding in the Boathouse

Roscha Belfast
Review Submitted: May 27, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We had an absolutely amazing wedding weekend in Inish Beg. The owners made us feel very welcome and at home right from the start. The island is so well cared for it was a joy to see nature at her best!

We stayed in the immaculate Boathouse - wow what a place! We really did not want to leave! It provided the perfect space for our small and intimate wedding ceremony and reception. Our guests stayed in the other accommodation around the island and every one of them said 'I think we got the best one!' No one had any complaints and again felt totally at home.

We all loved rambling around the many walks on the island, dipping our toes in the sea (those brave enough went for a swim!) and simply sitting in the sun day dreaming. I would definitely recommend Inish Beg - and especially The Boathouse - to anyone. It would be great for families or couples alike.

We can't wait to plan our next trip back to Inish Beg!!!

Weekend at The Boathouse

Bernhard Cork
Review Submitted: June 9, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2007
we visited Inishbeg on a stormy November weekend, and were literally blown away by the beauty and moodiness of the place. Living in West Cork ourselves, it takes alot of persuasion to leave our own lovely home to travel not far to stay in someone elses! However The Boathouse is a one off, in its design and location. One can sit for hours just watching the water and skies changing dramatically.

Its ideal for a weekend party in that your fellow revellers can stay in the nearby cottages, and its so nice just to hang out on and around the propery without having to feel you are missing out by not touring around. Although if you are new to the area, in and around Baltimore is well worth a visit, especially for long leisurly walks around the lake, and coast.

We will definately return, next when we can find an excuse to host a big gathering!
